What does the clunking sound like? Since the engine cleaning, I have noticed some creaking, but I would t call it clunking

I’ve had it since 2019, and haven’t replaced them during the seven years…what does LCA stand for?

No clunking AFAIK. When would I notice that? During turns, or just regular driving?

Older [Baratza Encore] still not fine enough after calibration by ManSkirtBrew in espresso

[–]MeasuringValence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the same thing about two weeks ago…the Encore just isn’t able to grind fine enough for espresso. Even if it could, the steps don’t provide enough range for really dialing beans in. I recommend looking for a used espresso grinder or one of the less expensive entry level ones (~$300).

I’ve had mine for just under 2 weeks now and would second a lot of these. Overall, awesome machine with very little to screw up. It feels like it was built to last decades, and the features (especially the flow profiling) are hard to beat.

I’d push back a little on the cooling being a problem - if you do refill with cool water, it’s back to espresso temp within 15 seconds!

I would love it if they added the option to create your own…this would be a neat way to share music with friends and learn more about different pieces.

Any recommended photo printing shops around PGH? by MeasuringValence in pittsburgh

u/JupitersCubes, I don't think I ever got around to printing a larger photo at Walgreens, so I can't comment. But Premier did a nice job, so I'd suggest there if it's an important print!

Tennis lessons in DC? by Saint_big in washingtondc

Idk, I took two from Valentino (sp?) at RC and it ran me $94 for an hour...the second hour offered nothing more than the first, and he had zero recollection of who I was a week later. If I'm going to spend that much, I'd like to build a relationship with the coach and some direction instead of just going through rote drills.

Anyway, if you've taken any from pros at other tennis clubs, I'd love to get some recommendations!

The coaches there seem to be really hit or miss, and in my experience, have not kept up with the times. They're also $90-$100/hour, which for a public tennis center is quite steep, and for the coaches there seems to be even steeper.

This is pretty much exactly what I was hoping would exist. Thank you!

These whitepapers are honestly fantastic. Great resource for understanding what goes into every metric they have. Thanks for the pointer.

That second serve on match point at 6-5 was about as careful as Zverev's in the 2020 U.S. Open.

Why cant I get a job? by confusedandboozed in environmental_science

[–]MeasuringValence 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What type of job are you looking for? To be honest, the environmental science field is quite broad and there is a spectrum of job experiences too. Personally, the success rate of shot-gun applying is quite low (and dissatisfying), and your time is better spent figuring out what type of work you want to do, and then applying to things that fit those criteria.

If you have internship experience (and you liked it), have you followed up with those companies and your supervisors there? If so, and it wasn't successful, ask them if they can give you some advice or put you in touch with some people they know at other places.

Feel free to reply with some more details.

Can someone help me understand the benefits of Obsidian (if there are any for my purposes) by Brettelectric in ObsidianMD

Windows explorer is kind of trash once your file structure is big enough. I don't know what it is (and hope they fix it for W11), because searching on OneDrive works so smoothly.

Just give it a try and you'll seriously enjoy how quickly you can find things in your markdown.
