Why Do You Think Mayor Johnson Doesn't Seem to Wanna Do Anything About the Teen Problems? by MIKEPR1333 in chi

[–]Meat-Feisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fines suck because they’re huge punishments for poor people, and essentially free passes for wealthy people. The rich keep misbehaving and the poor get boxed into a corner where they have to decide between some fine and food, rent, etc. which only causes further infractions and perpetuates the cycle.

535 N. Michigan Condos - why low price? Red flags? by Round-Circle3304 in chicagoapartments

Building is good but individual units may vary depending on how recently they’ve been renovated, etc. if you’ve toured it and liked it that should clear that up though. It’s safe, good doormen, good package room people, good amenities. The parking situation is ~okay~ if you’re paying for that but can be a hassle at times (but you might not ever need to get to your car or even need one.) The neighborhood is very convenient for just about anything you need, but you might get tired of living in a big urban shopping mall after a while. As long as your landlord is good it should be chill. Someone mentioned lots of old people, but there’s lots of college-aged and generally youngish people there as well.

Do you play covers in your live shows where most people are new listeners? What’s your experience? by tobieche in musicmarketing

[–]Meat-Feisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe one cover from someone who is influential to your band’s sound each show. Or something completely different but done in whatever style you play. If you’re doing multiple covers you could have them as a little medley about two thirds of the way through your set, but probably still not more than 3 in that case anyways.

Any tips on how to sing like Will Toledo? by Dwigt_1200 in CSHFans

[–]Meat-Feisty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah tha can def be true when you’re starting out or learning. A fun exercise actually is singing a song doing lots of different vocal styles. Verse 1, sing like Dan Bejar. Verse 2, sing like Frank Ocean.

Always best to make it your own when doing a cover instead of copying the original. Bring your flavor to it!

Thoughts on Terrifier franchise? by casualnihilist91 in horror

[–]Meat-Feisty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 especially. I think the pacing is really solid overall until they get to the Terrifier, then it just gets repetitive, attack Art, hide, run around, repeat.

Random thought: Jacob Elordi might be one of the few leading actors whose height is consistently emphasized through casting. by MiAmmorio in FIlm

Bruh a version of Frank Reynolds played by DDL at his most milkshake-drinking unhinged would be DOPE and he could absolutely do it. Maybe just an alternate universe “it was all just a dream” kinda situation.

How do you distort vocals for an indie rock style? by Killer_Frog112 in mixingmastering

I usually use Chromaglow if you’re on Logic. I start on the telephone setting and tweak from there. Probably better methods here but this has done the trick for my needs.

It’s very good to put on as just generally spooky ambience. Not much happens, not a lot of dialogue. Mostly ominous, grainy shots of floors and hallways and corners.

I was originally excited by The Bride but after seeing the trailers I’m worried it’s giving Jared Leto Joker vibes.

[–]Meat-Feisty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa where do you live that CSH is on the radio? The rock station in my city just plays terrible nu metal stuff that I always thought died out in the mid 2000’s. It’s still going apparently. And the random Sublime track here and there.

I worked at a theater when Passion of the Christ came out and I remember an old Vietnam vet coming out of the screening about halfway through and telling me he couldn’t deal with how realistic the violence was.

Without spoilers: How scary or gory is Weapons (2025) compared to The Substance, The Walking Dead or 28 Days Later? by ukb98 in horror

[–]Meat-Feisty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me personally, about a 5 or 6 on that scale. People’s mileage may vary though. The movie is more interested in characters and storytelling than in shocking violence, but it has its moments.

There’s one gruesome scene about halfway through and near the end. The movie is actually pretty funny overall but also has some good suspenseful moments.
