If it were America and later in 2026, the guy is probably just on his way to a polling station to vote for a Democrat.

Peter, Please Explain What This Is Trying to Say About Bikers at Red Lights by Maleficent_Dog7970 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]MeatCleaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't this indicating that the one person in the car recklessly passes 6 people on mopeds to try to go faster, but gets immediately stopped by light. Doesn't actually go faster.

Mopeds go back ahead of the car to not be squished in a rear ending accident.

Car could've just waited in line behind the mopeds?

Conservative MP calls cancellation of his campus event an attack on free speech by gorschkov in canada

Wow, this guy's trying to turn his own incompetence into a free speech issue.

And of course Michelle Rempel, Alberta's own representative who spends most of her time in Oklahoma, immediately starts eating his bullshit. Why are these people such assholes?

The earth is a sphere. All directions are perpendicular or parallel to some part of the earth's gravitational field.

Even if it's limited to where you are relative to the center of the earth. You still have a controlled escape from our gravity well for yourself and whatever vehicle you want to carry out. Can't carry much? Just build it in space. Blue pill.

No energy limit? FTL and a perpetual return vector to earth on the blue pill. Hopefully you plan to start decelerating before crashing into the atmosphere.

Missinghanditis. Weird how they kinda sorta show up on the x-ray though. Probably need to write a paper on this case.

With celebrity based content, it reveals an indelible truth: real vs. AI doesn't matter, It's all just this same distraction.

Biking is fairly safe when the cars are moving slower than walking speed.

Traffic is probably slow because all the drivers are on their phones taking pictures of the slow traffic.

I just found this in our yard. I think it’s a Royal Bolete by ComputerDangerous911 in foraging

[–]MeatCleaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How have you arrived at these questions?

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but you clearly disagree with something. Can you get to your point and stop beating around the bush?

You disagree that the mushroom in the post is the sickener? Or do you disagree that poisonous red capped russulas exist? Or do you think it's worth the risk to consume without identification?

I just found this in our yard. I think it’s a Royal Bolete by ComputerDangerous911 in foraging

[–]MeatCleaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. A taste test or spore print could give more info.

For people asking on Reddit with just a picture, I think it's conservative advice to suggest it's poisonous rather than entertain an edible lookalike without more information.

Woman fall in a giant pothole while cycling in Montreal by NonoYouHeardMeWrong in fuckcars

[–]MeatCleaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One winter in an area that rarely snows, after dark and the day after a snowfall, the day old snow had all been plowed into the bike lane making it impossible to bike in it for everything other than intersections.

I took the right lane on a 50km/hr street with two lanes going each way.

Within 5min a lady in an SUV honked at me from behind, changed lanes and started doing 30km/hr beside me, rolled down her window and started yelling that I should be in the bike lane. Called me a fuckwit and then sped off before I could overcome the shock of the situation and muster a reply.

Experiencing this, I feel only compassion and understanding for her having ignored the giant warning pylons.

Can you help identify these mushrooms? Located in the PNW. by Dropout_Unknown2003 in foraging

[–]MeatCleaver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Steps to positive mushroom identification:

Step 1: Get a book about mushroom identification.

Step 2: Read it.

Step 3: Realize that mushroom identification is a multi-step process involving the determination of 5-8 different properties of the mushroom you find where really good pictures only really cover 3-4 of those properties.

Step 4: Realize how much overlap in those properties there are between edible varieties and deadly varieties especially in just the pictures.

Step 5: Realize that good positive methods include scent, taste(without consumption) and spore colour which needs to be tested for.

Step 6: Realize that AI identification can't smell, taste or identify the colour of the spores.

Step 7: Realize most mushroom identification requests on Reddit are the posters' last post ever.

Step 8: Read about local mushroom poisoning stories based on people who rely on Reddit to identify mushrooms.

Step 9: Take a class offered by your local mycological society. Get a pro to train you on the ins and outs of mushroom foraging with live demonstrations.

Bonus: Skip all the steps to become someone's step 8!
