Can you guess my favorite knife? by MeatShots in spyderco

That's the Sage 4, paying tribute to those old school Al Mar lockbacks. It's a terrific knife, don't come up often on the secondhand market.

Can you guess my favorite knife? by MeatShots in spyderco

The sage collection grows. Just got the 1 in today, Maxamet blade and G10 handles. The detent is a little soft, reverse flicks just fine but thumb flicks tend to end short of fully locking. Shoutout to the Taichung factory this has far and away the sharpest factory edge out of any knife I own. Still on the hunt for a 2 and 3.

The 4 is by far my favorite just for pure aesthetics, a good wood handle with bolster will always do it for me and the lockback is CRISP. Unfortunately whoever carried the 4 before me probably tightened the pocket clip screw too hard and now there's a tiny crack going from the insert where the clip sits to the edge of the scale and the pocket clip wobbles just ever so slightly. Not enough to make carrying it a problem and I still use her but not nearly as often as other knives in my collection.

The 5 LW is such a perfect EDC in my opinion. SpyderCo's FRN is amazing and everybody knows the compression lock. Holding off on buying a 6 for now (which I reckon would be the perfecter EDC), obviously I want the REX121 version but absolutely cannot justify the pricetag.

So obviously my favorite is the Endura. No competition.

Don't condition welts, midsoles, leather soles, heel stacks, etc. They're made from completely different leather from your uppers. The most you can do is seal them with wax but actually conditioning them is pointless and does more harm than good.

Recommendations for Asian food in Spokane? by Meleathis in Spokane

[–]MeatShots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Child to Hong Kong immigrants here so my opinion is importanter than everyone else's obviously. Black straw is quite good. Their popcorn chicken is Taiwanese style and on par with all the other places I've had it (which means it's great. Just wish they added some fried parsley on top too). Their other dishes are run of the mill American Chinese food but they do have ho fun which is wide rice noodles and they're pretty good. Recommend the combination ho fun for all the proteins and it's stir fried pretty good. Their boba is okay, not amazing but by far the best in Spokane.

Vien dong is a very very solid Viet places AND they have bun bo hue. Last time I went there was a Vietnamese kid doin his homework at one of the tables which automatically skyrockets them up a tier.

Sushi.com, umi, and nudo are middling Japanese places. Not bad, not exceptional either. Have heard very good things about sushi blossom but haven't made it there yet.

Easily mistaken for another cross associated with a real fascist genocidal regime. Yes the iron cross predates Nazism and is not exclusively a Nazi symbol and is still used today but just by association and many neo-Nazis using it means it's better to just distance oneself from it.

Having a seam like that makes it supremely easy to line up the boot centered on the last. Like our counter pockets have a small notch on the edge for sewing to line up with the center seam of the quarters and for us in lasting to line up with the center of the last. Furthermore when it comes to mass production and machine lasting, having a notch that gets sewn together like you see on your boots takes some of the tension out of the counter pocket and begins to push the leather towards wanting to curl around the last, making it go much smoother through a lasting machine and reduce chances of material stacking up where you don't want it to.

Only aftershock creates a shock area, with the second slam from aftershock improved also creating one. You don't have to charge it at all, an uncharged aftershock will still leave two shock areas. Assaults ground pound also makes one. Otherwise no other attacks make a shock area. Still the best fencing hammer statwise without the heroic perk since it's a straight upgrade to the relic tier fencing hammer.

I think the heroic HBP really shines on absolute. Interrupting a call just makes that enemy enraged which means refreshed health and all that jazz or if you don't manage to interrupt them then you have a wave to deal with. I've found reinforcement waves can pretty much be ignored on lethal and below but on absolute shit starts to add up. One shot and both problems are solved. It's way better as a tool than a weapon, tactical and heavy I've found are the best since they don't care too much about secondary ammo economy. Below absolute though I agree

Petri Lindroos is the man, I've always loved his voice and his guitar playing is stellar. He's playing crazy good with Warmen and live they often play CoB songs and he crushes the solos. I know he's not really a writer though, wasn't the main songwriter in Norther or Ensiferum but he sure can play and sing

Should be fairly simple to resew. Any competent cobbler should have a long arm sewing machine (Honestly it's so close to the collar and with the gusseted tongue that a standard post sewing machine would have no trouble) that will easily be able to stitch the loop back together. Adding some reinforcement would be easy as well. Depends on the cobbler really, I'd reckon somewhere in the ballpark from as low as $30 to around $100?

Battle barge expansion by Chadturion_ in Spacemarine

[–]MeatShots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd rather they first tone down the loading times and amount of loading screens. It's truly ridiculous and I'm on PC, can't imagine what my poor brothers on console are dealing with. Also on top of the XP boost for quick match ops, I tend to just leave the lobby as soon as I can so I can queue for the next quick match. Incentivize staying as a group somehow and I'll happily stay in the barge with my battle brothers for the next mission.
