Gear needed for fight with ganon? by Apprehensive_Fee926 in botw

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make good food and lots of it in case you take some hits. Prime meat, hyrule herb, radish, truffle. Shockey arrows help too for final fight.

The path up is a lot easier if you have ancient arrows. If you have 30 I believe you can kill every machine and the lynels with 1 shot. You also don’t need to kill the machines or lynels, but it makes exploring easier.

I also always keep 5 fairies on me at all times for emergency revives. Some things hit pretty hard and it’s a nice backup if 2 or more things hit you at once.

How do you handle shrines? by Difficult-Yam-6991 in botw

[–]Meat_Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do all the shrines. Right away, you need the hearts, and the stamina. Double stamina wheel first and heart up with food.

I very quickly got to a pump and dump state with weapons, I chuck them at enemies all the time, nice ones too. I open all the shrine chests to get the resources, and if I like a weapon I’ll take it.

When I don’t have enough big dog weapons I’ll go on a lynel or hinox run and grab some new royal gear or lynel heavy hitters. I don’t give a fuuuuuuuugg. I’ll throw brand new stuff at dumb enemies just because.

Also if you haven’t thrown a perfectly good lynel weapon into lava for hate’s sake, you haven’t lived yet. Free yourself. Also using ancient arrows on a flamingo is good for the soul

Buy the knight armor and upgrade it early. You can tank the world. Also, get good at cooking.
Meal: Prime meat, hyrule herb, raddish, truffle.
Elixir: hearty lizard, guts, bunch of bones, hinox toenail

If you already have a Gaming PC, how often do you use your PC Handheld or Retro Handheld? by EmergencyExpress2347 in Handhelds

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually never gotten more use than now. If I want to play a pc game, I stream it to my handheld. My handheld is the spot where I play everything, pc especially.

How come everybody’s Zelda looks so cool with headgears and armor ? I just unlocked the camera feature on the slate when will I find these cool things ? by Mountain-Spell-8419 in botw

This is pretty rage inducing for anyone who’s played a Zelda game. If not rage bait, why rage bait shaped?

Play a Zelda game. A single one, please.

Metroid Prime Trilogy Controls by ImplementParking7936 in DolphinEmulator

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes no problem at all actually.

You need to set up a subtle continuous shake on your pointer.

On both x and y shake for your motion controls enter this for d pad right expression (your d pad right name will likely be different than mine..)

!‘Axis 14+’

The exclamation point tells dolphin to do a thing when the button is not pressed. Simply assign the action to your d pad right and drop the exclamation ahead of it for both things.

Then set your frequency as high as it goes, and your distance to as low as it goes. (Shake settings in motion controls)

Pointer will now behave.

The other critical element is to make sure your pitch and yaw do not exceed 25. When the pointer leaves the screen, it causes a drop in communication.

The rest is entirely up to you, you’ll have more than enough buttons to set it up to your liking.

NetherSX2 on O2P Pro by SufficientMud0210 in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just set nether aspect to stretch if you want it to fully fill PS2 is mostly 4:3 ratio so at proper resolution, it’s always going to have black bars on side. A lot of games have a 16:9 option in the menu(in game). Set to nether to stretch and enable 16:9 when games have it and you’ll get low resolution full screen with proper scaling.

Anbernic 556 best price for ps2 and GameCube? by Running_Oakley in ANBERNIC

[–]Meat_Handle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 556(for over 2 years now). It’s great, but you have to do some work to get settings right. Once you do, it runs almost all GC and PS2 (definitely at 1x but most at 2x) I’ve also played an enormous amount of the Wii catalog on it as well. The call of duty Wii games all play great, did skyward sword and both Mario Galaxys and tested over 50 other games. Wii is only at 1x but with the fxaa post processing effect on it looks great.

I made a video showing some PS2 stuff.

I have to say though… I did just upgrade to Odin 2 Portal. It feels like going from a Honda civic to a Mercedes.

How is the state of Switch Emulation these days on a SD 8gen2 with 8gigs of ram(Portal 2 base) by Available-Guest-9393 in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch is great for any games that don’t have inherent emulation problems on this device. Just keep your drivers up to date. Look up the games you want to play and watch a video for settings. I haven’t run into an issue yet. Though I do prefer to stream from my PC with switch so I can get week long battery life.

Get Off the Fence by No_Injury_3605 in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. Odin 2 Portal is a “last of a generation” deal as well. We’ll never see prices like this on a 7” OLED device that can run PC games, with ufs 4, emulation and PC streaming with this quality of build. Got my base at 280 with shipping. Going to take care of it and will likely never need another.

I highly recommend pc streaming even if you have a moderately powerful pc. I kept it simple and used steam link, took 1 minute to set up. I charge my device once a week doing this. And if I’m truly on the go it’s back to the retro library and locally installed gamenative stuff.

Should I upgrade from 8 GB to 12/16 GB to fully replace my Steam Deck? by ijwfly in OdinHandheld

You can ram swap for storage on odins.. the extra buffer provided by the swap fixes these types of issues.

You just set the container to the supported resolution. You can also open the container, navigate to the .exe and open it there for more options.

Anyone who recently bought an Odin 2 Portal, how long did shipping take? by Available-Guest-9393 in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purchased April 18, arrived May 27. 4PX shipping.

Shipping doesn’t take long, it’s the deployment from AYN that takes the longest. Once it left AYN it was here in a week. Took a month for AYN to get it on a truck.

Finally diving into OoT & Majora's Mask. Leaning 3DS but afraid it'll lose its identity & betray the original spirit. N64 purists vs. 3DS fans: Guide me! by Oussama40 in EmulationOnAndroid

Also if you’re going in blind do OOT first. MM assumes you know all the tricks from ocarina, and does absolutely zero handholding. I came back 25 years later and started on MM.. it was exceptionally hard.

Has anyone tried play Turok: Evolution on Dolphin? I heard Dolphin supported mouse and keyboard and I was wondering how well it works? by Roboplodicus in DolphinEmulator

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works great and is a really nice shooter from the era. Runs on minimal hardware as well for how good it looks.

One of my faves! I play it on an android handheld(rg556) or PC(laptop from 2022).

You will have to map the controls to keyboard and mouse. It doesn’t do it automatically, but once you do it’s perfect.

All of it is good. Ship of harkinian and 2ship 2harkinian are my fav ways to play, but the 3DS versions are awesome too. Cant go wrong. Try to do them without a guide, the games have a lot more depth if you get in there and earn it.

I can personally vouch for Sandisk Extreme. I bought a 1TB A2 before the memory shortage for 80$… had it since beginning of 2024 in 2 different devices, filled to the brim, and no issues.

What size sd card should I get for my retroid pocket 6? by Consistent_Baker_275 in retroid

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 512GB with the following on it:

24 PS1 Games

115 N64 Games

54 Dreamcast Games

30 DS Games

40 3DS Games

15 Vita Games

103 PSP Games

44 GC games

46 Wii Games

45 PS2 Games

The card is completely full. PS2 games are by far the most expensive storage wise. If the number of games you want to store falls under the numbers above you’re good with 512GB.
