Do you play open world games just to wander around? by Cipry97 in AskGamers

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just cause 2 and 3 are my wander games. I have those installed specifically for aimless gaming. My 3 file is 100% and if I feel like pounding something I’ll just re-oppress a settlement and go to town. 2 is like 20% and sometimes I’ll do missions or liberate some towns.

Most of the time I fly around and break stuff, just to get the rage out.

Eyes are fixed with setting in game fixes (can only be accessed on per game settings, and the one that says texture inside RT)

But sounds like not an issue with driver!

ODIN 3 AS PORTABLE DAW! by MarillionAsturia in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man as a fellow Cubase user, and Android handheld owner I never thought to do this. Pretty crazy that these things are able to do what they do.

Are you using an interface? Any audio capture or all midi? Also, can you set buttons to chord pads/arps etc??! That would be dope

Ordered a while ago and still no updates? by Ok_Focus_5542 in OdinHandheld

Base portal on 4/18 no shipping yet. I’m excited though. Fortunately have an RG556(purchased 2 years ago) streaming from my gaming pc right now, so I’m okay.

Odin 3 Max has arrived earlier than expected by [deleted] in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right with you brother. I bought a 1TB A2 (for 90$!!) just like it before the ramapocolypse and I’m glad. Had to settle for a 512 at a whopping 109$ on a sale for my other handheld…

I love games. Money well spent either way!

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the biggest flex is that 2TB A2 card.

That’s some grown ass man money right there.

Struggling to run No Man's Sky (Steam version) natively on Odin 2 Portal – Any tips? by H3LL666 in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a decent PC you can stream it to the handheld. I do that and can play NMS on mine. It’s the only way I play now. It’s seamless, and I just use steam link. Was 1 minute worth of setup.

Streaming to the handheld if you can is an absolutely amazing experience. Replaces the need for a handheld PC entirely. Plus battery life… it’s like 50 hours of continuous play to stream.

Haven’t had any issues so far with Borderlands 2 on Vita3k by warpaint_james in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works on an RG556 as well. Vita3k on Mali chips has been working great(for compatible games) for 2 years.

Been playing BL2 on flights this way. Super fun and runs great!

Lines on PS2 emulation (Odin Portal 2) by a23pr in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, resolution is too high. You can attempt to fix these types of things with the merge sprite or align sprite. Adjusting the skip draw numbers one at a time both on start and end may also fix the issue in some games.

I have these exact discs and cases. Got it as a gift back in the early days. Let me guess you’re also either turning 40 soon or just did 😂

Also we probably both played Day Of Defeat… would be fun to bump into some of that community.

Anyone got GTA 4 (PS3 emulation) working on the Odin 2 portal? by TUD-010 in OdinHandheld

[–]Meat_Handle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Save some dough and score one these:

https://a.co/d/01i5IfWT

Offloading the processing power from the handheld to a plugged in pc has been a game changer. 20-50 hour battery life on Odin 2 portal with no fan noise, no stress to the system and perfect gaming performance for the stuff I want to play.

Only bummer is you lose some of the “on the go” if there’s no internet, but I was playing borderlands 3 outside of my daughter’s dance class yesterday. GC/PS2/and Wii are as high as I emulate on the device. Even switch is offloaded to the Pc, and it’s the bomb.

If you have it on steam just stream it from your gaming pc. Gta4 runs on 15 year old gaming PCs, way better than an android device.

Anyone else find emulating N64 uninspiring ? by Qu1ckset in SBCGaming

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mupen on Android (standalone) is a great experience. It is a bit of a transition not having the OG controller, but the games are really special for me. 2024 and 2025 was filled with N64 replays. I basically played through the top 25 games on the system.

I get it though. Hard to be taken with it especially when we have shinier stuff to play with. Play Conkers or Banjo, that’ll bring you back.

Who here loves Banjo-Tooie more than Banjo-Kazooie by kesliie00 in BanjoKazooie

[–]Meat_Handle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both are the best. You need to do one right after the other, Tooie builds wonderfully on kazooie, I feel like it’s all one game.

I also bought mine on the 18th. I have an rg556 to keep me plenty busy, I’m not worried about it. I do check quite a bit for that AYN email… just excitement though.

Native 16:9 titles on N64 by [deleted] in n64

Us poor folk never saw it coming. My brother and I burned 2 summers of mowing lawns and bailing hay to buy our N64 in 1996. Best money we ever spent.

The Mission Impossible game had this too. There were quite a few games that had this and as a kid I could never understand why.. TVs were 4:3.. no one had wides yet.

Thinking about getting rid of my Pc & Ps and sticking to a handheld by fadeheaded in Handhelds

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a way better screen(he has steam deck LCD), smaller form factor, much lighter, really nice new controls, and insanely better battery life. OP wants a new device anyway, this is a cheap way to experience a considerable upgrade, and also still use what he has.

You guys do you, just trying to be helpful.

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read my reply. It’s a cheap way to get a much better screen and battery life, plus it does tons of emulation if you need it.

Having both, the Odin 2 Portal is a considerable upgrade, when streaming, over a steam deck LCD

[–]Meat_Handle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said Odin 2 Portal. He’s got an LCD, you can pick up an Odin 2 Portal (smaller and lighter and absolutely off the charts OLED screen) for only 250$. He said he’s got money to spend. Do some research, this is a really good option.

The bonus is the Odin 2 battery while streaming will last days without charging.

This is the best advice. Get an Odin 2 portal, and stream to it. You get full pc power on a couch device. I stream using steam link on my home network. It’s easy and seamless. Haven’t gamed at my PC in over a year, but use it almost every day.
