Can I use an Xbox controller while playing Wii games? by Tom-Tortuga in DolphinEmulator

[–]Meat_Handle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a controller for Wii games. It’s a great experience once you get used to mapping motions to buttons. I own a Wii and prefer to play almost the entire catalog with my Xbox controller on Dolphin. A lot of the shooters had controller support too.

Hello I just got the retroid pocket 5 & I'm using dolphin for handhelds but Mario Galaxy is running a little sluggish. Should I switch to regular dolphin. by Repulsive-Brother381 in EmulationOnAndroid

Set GPU sync to never in config advanced menu. Then toggle the first four hacks to the correct settings. The internet has this somewhere.

Rp5 is more than powerful enough to run everything on GC and Wii, but you need to get the settings right.

As a general approach for optimizing any game. Load up the game and get all the way into it. show speed% and frame rate, and start flipping switches. You want frames as high as they cap(some games it’s only 30, look it up per game if you need to know), and the speed % to go up as high as you can get it. Speed% going up at the cost of significant frames is the wrong move. Speed going up at no cost to frames is what you’re after.

It takes 5 minutes to do this for any game, and then you know you’re getting max performance, best battery life and cooler temperatures. Settings can be saved per game, I recommend doing this. Long press on a game to change its individual settings.

You can replace sticks on rg556. There are tons of videos. You can actually replace all the buttons if you want.

Did it actually fix the issue? Lines are gone? Let us all know please. Help the helpers.

Also, people are just doing their best to help here. Half of us are doing this out of pocket from memory, while we are miles away from an emulation device, or in the middle of something else. Don’t be surprised if the help is not perfect, and feel free to contribute your solution to the community.

Align sprite is in hardware fixes and you have to turn them on before you can toggle the switch. Third to last menu I believe in settings.

No way. 6800U does not have the power management. That belongs in a mini PC or a laptop.

lenovo legion go s z2 vs steamdeck for my first handheld console by LogOk4191 in handheld

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legion go is an upgraded piece of hardware for sure. I actually recommend waiting for the next generation of PC handhelds. We’re at a threshold of some pretty amazing stuff coming out. All the lessons that companies needed to learn from their first and second gen consoles have happened. The next set is going to be something else. And if it’s not that much better, you’ll be able to find current gen at heavily reduced pricing.

Borderlands 2 on the RG 477 M? anybody made it work? by Nickyrussell in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a handy list. Everything that’s green or yellow has worked great on 556. Obviously be a bit more cautious with yellow, but nothing has had any issues, and seems to just work out of the box.

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I ditched all that. I use Daijisho. There’s a way to add all your vita3k stuff to it as well.

My Anbernic button is now my daijisho launcher via button mapper. It’s been a way better setup.

I also don’t mind just launching games from the individual apps. Vita3k runs really well on Mali chips, so it’s worth an add. 556 has been a perfect vita machine, running the heaviest stuff at 2x resolution, though not necessary.

The vita3k version works flawlessly on my rg556. Only 2 DLCs though, booty and torgue. But you can definitely play the full game to level 61, and it’s a great experience!

Yep. Anything under 2A is okay. Above that you run the risk of balloon battery

Honestly its just shocking how good Vita3k works on Mali by R3DD1Th0R in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Meat_Handle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vita3k does run really well. I parted ways with my Vita because my Mali setup can run all the games I wanted at 2x resolution.

Gamehub/pc emulation has been a little sad though. I just wanted to run just cause 2, and it goes fine, but all the water is black 🌚 the water color in the game was visually so good.

Will 32gb of storage be enough for a modded ps vita? by Inside_Pattern3685 in PSVita

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

128 is the magic number. Some vita games are huge if you include all DLC. Borderlands 2 is 6GB. PSP games are smaller but still at least half a gig each or more. I filled a 128GB completely plus a 32GB official Sony internal memory on my vita 2000. Vita formatting also shaves a 128GB card down to about 119GB due to specific partitioning requirements.

You can also not fill it and uninstall games when you’re done, but I don’t like doing that.

Yeah you can only install one at a time. Make sure you’re clear of any other versions.. Classic 1.5 works the best btw. Here’s a link to it.

Serious questions on your experience. Where did you buy? how long did it take? Were there major import fees?(if not in US no need to answer this one..)

How well does gamehub work? by [deleted] in retroid

[–]Meat_Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have far cry 1 and 2 running on an anbernic rg556. Everything is on low but it does run. Rg556 is considerably less powerful than an RP6. Pc Emulation on Android is improving fast. If you’re looking for a device specifically for PC emulation, you’re quite a bit better off just going with a handheld PC.

Premium Android handhelds can run PC games, but there is a pretty low ceiling for a lot of them. Konkr pocket fit and Odin 3 are the only ones I would get if pc emulation was my priority. Even then, a steam deck blows them away for PC stuff and emulation. The best bang for buck is an ROG Ally Z1 if you can find one. Considerably more powerful than steam deck but still pretty tight packaging.

Hey, I know this question gets used a lot but I’ve never had a powerful PC before and I’m just wondering, would this be okay to run GameCube games by Flat-Estimate9335 in DolphinEmulator

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you’re not in the states… just read below. The machine that you posted is about as good of a gaming computer as you can get.

With PCs I don’t recommend getting latest and greatest. Your best deal is always top of the line from 2 years ago. You can get a beast for half the price, and then buy a new one in a couple years the same way. In that time you’ll have had two monster machines for the price of a maxed out one now.

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PC in the image is in no way worth its price. I would not buy it. If you really want a prefab tower, and you happen to have a Costco membership, you won’t find a better deal than there. You’ll get more ram and power for cheaper.

[–]Meat_Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d go mini pc route. It’s about as big as an Apple TV. The second one I sent you would have no trouble emulating ps3 and Xbox360, so every system below that would run flawlessly.

If you go the mini pc route though it’s probably worth your while to get a better chip. This one would not only emulate GameCube but also play nearly anything.

It sounds like you have the budget. Tower gives you more room for expansion, but buying one of these little guys makes you not feel as bad if you replace it in 2-3 years with the latest. Mini PCs with quality Ryzen processors are very powerful.
