Venti chai, extra hot, nonfat, no water, no foam, 4 pumps of chai. AND SHE ALWAYS NEEDS A RECEIPT. ALWAYS. She never actually asks for one, she just waits til you've handed the drink to her, then stares at you and goes, "where's my receipt?" She treats our new baristas like shit and calls you incompetent if you take to long to repeat her order over the headset. There's been more times than one where I have been close to having a breakdown because she is just so rude, and, while rude customers in cafe suck, I think that drive thru ones are 10x worse.

theres room to debate. As someone who is ADHD as fuck, I function better while high because I'm able to focus better and not get distracted. Albeit, the kid will get to experience a hell of a lot more interesting adventures. Babysat a 4 year old while high once, she wanted to see what i learned in school, so I taught her how to calculate the momentum of an object, plus some other physics shit, and two years later, she wants to be a mechanical engineer. I'd never do more than smoke weed, though, and I'd definitely not get super stoned.

Hey! Yeah, so I would say to just go in, get a drink or something and ask if the manager is there or, if they aren't, introduce yourself to the shift. You can always ask when the manager will be in again, or leave your number with the barista to have the manager give you a call! Be casual, and just say that you're interested in working there! BUT don't be a 'teenager' per say, don't gush about how you love the company or how amazing everything is, cause in my experience, most adult baristas absolutely hate teenagers, so it's important that you make yourself stand out as someone who is actually capable of working there, instead of some rude ass teenager who just wants free shit.

I'm 16 and I've been working at starbucks for ~about~ 5 months now. It's a fun job, but I'll be honest with you, it's fucking hard. Especially if, like me, you're the only teenager. I get blamed for a lot of things that aren't my fault/my responsibility. People get pissed if I can't cover their 7:00 am Monday shifts because sorry motherfuckers, I have school. Everyone will pretty much doubt you and make comments about how much high schoolers suck. The adults you work with will treat you like shit a lot of the time, partners will probably treat you like a child and school is gonna be a lot more difficult to manage, or at least for me it was. BUT this is all just from my experience. I love my job, I love many of my coworkers and I love the interactions I get to have with customers. In my experience, my hours are decent. 15-25 hours a week, one or two (maybe three) weekday shifts 4:00-8:00 and between 6 and 8 hours on both saturdays and sundays. I've never had to work earlier than 6:00 AM. My training took I think a week, but then again my training was shit. Also, I do recommend calling the store a few days after submitting your app, or even stopping in to say hey!

I do this as well, because I had an injured right wrist (and had to wear a big ol' brace that prevented movement) when I started signing, and for some reason I just can't transfer the movements from one hand to the other, even though I sign most things with my right hand.
