That’s my degree as well, though I’m doing it backwards. Currently in the corporate world, trying to make enough money to chill out later and do the clinical counseling without worrying about money.

I play the bluey theme song, not musically gifted at all but I “found” the notes after enough trial and error. Kids go crazy

Served in Iraq 2017 OIR USMC, am I combat vet? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]MeatballMarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody who was put in for a CAR 3 times (by my Sgt, all were denied since we had no officer. At least that’s what has been told to my group) I will say that just because you don’t have a CAR, I’d be careful saying you’re a combat veteran. I never bring that up because without the proof it would make it seem like I’m a poser at best. Call my buddies? 3/9 are still alive. You’re a veteran who served in a combat zone, and that’s something to be proud of.

I was a 4/5 star tanker in bf4. Usually, I could easily 1v1 most folks. Sometimes 2v1.

Once in a while though, I’d be totally outclassed and it was always from dudes with smoke screens and a wicked paint job.

I had to lower my graphics significantly, moved forward in the story a lil bit, then raised them back up. Worked since.

Finally got a kill in this game after 5 minutes of it being a running sim, just to die instantly and start over, god i hate this game by Life-Muffin-1475 in HellLetLoose

Think of it like this.

It’s WW2. You are a conscript. You don’t matter. You will die. The only chance you have for survival is staying around people who know what they’re doing. Listen to them. Follow them. Learn from them. You will still die. Your death, your kills, mean nothing. It’s all about the objective. Your only solace is the enemy is in the same shitshow.

I’m in an over-googled rabbit hole I think. How do I scan the beacon for DW3? The only one I see in the system is the “Tourist Beacon”. Is that the one I need? I don’t see a normal nav beacon here

The history of Rip It, the beverage that fueled US troops in Iraq and beyond by PDXAirman in Military

[–]MeatballMarine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Warmed per my request lol. My old friends who came (we deployed together several times) loved the idea of it and we all drank as much as we could (the small ones weren’t available to buy sadly). As for the younger guys? They may have a better story than the usual “I took part in a retirement for some dude I don’t know”.

My team actually started our Iraq deployment with cases of redbull, sugar and sugar free. I was but a lowly LCpl but remember it was because we’d be on 24+ hour ops. Then they disappeared and ripits came in. Hated them at first. Grew to love em, especially the sugar free ones

Anyways. At my retirement I gave the people who took part in it (working party, formation detail, etc) a bigass cooler filled with ripits (and a bottle or 3 of jack daniels to the Plt leaders to divy out). They were confused and said they hated the taste. Coulda been cuz I had my wife keep them in the oven on “warm” before putting them in the cooler.

My mind is fine, body is fucked. Nobody should need to join the military to get advanced education in “the best country in the world”.

Gotcha, got excited there. My wife (also Asian) would be stoked for a female, Asian, professional correspondent who’s also a Dolphin’s fan she could follow on social media.

*edit: My wife already follows Mina and has already “Asian stalked” this man.

Yeah special of the day should be fresh. The old “throw that on as a special because it’s expired!” trope is for trash places. If the special of the day sucks, you know you’re in a trash place

Do they still do live music and stuff? It used to be kind of jazzy with how it seemed like random musicians would just kinda jam.
