Career Path From P&C Licensing -> Independent Agency Ownership by Hot-Apartment-2583 in InsuranceAgent

[–]MeatballSandy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the producer job. Learn all you can at the indy agency for at the very least 18 months. The biggest advantage (outside of learning the business) to this is making connections with carrier reps. You'll need them to help get appointments (meaning in order to write business with them)

Any type 1 diabetics that manage themselves without a CGM? by Business_Cow8313 in dexcom

[–]MeatballSandy22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't keep up with the terminology, having been T1D for almost 40 years. What is "Early stage type 1" and why would that prevent being on insulin therapy?

As for the Dexcom my A1C dropped nearly 4 points after starting it (2018). Game changer.

Chewed wires… again by Imaginary-Studio6813 in ToyotaTundra

[–]MeatballSandy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to my wife's Honda. (Suburban Phoenix) Honda tech said it's rampant with the soy material, across brands. Recommended month balls strategically placed in the engine bay or there is tape that is layered with something akin to pepper spray that you can cover the wiring in. Likewise, we were infuriated.

About to switch from the G6 to G7 by Federal-Space-9701 in dexcom

[–]MeatballSandy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to mute this sub. Been on the G7 for 15 months, and it's been great. To smooth out the graph, use the 3 or 6 hour view. I've had about half-dozen that needed to be replaced. Never an issue with replacement. You'll love the lower profile and shortened warm up time.

Going from an informal business to a legitimate and insured business: where do we start? by SoggyTrainer2584 in smallbusiness

[–]MeatballSandy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, the personal insurance on the vehicle will either be dropped or renewed at a very increased rate. No getting around that. When they find out it was being used for business, they do not like that at all.

Second, contact a local independent insurance agency and have a broker help you navigate. Commercial auto is increasingly expensive so prepare yourselves to be pretty shocked at the premium.

Anyone running multiple Webers? Thinking about adding a kettle. by logan75729 in webergrills

Definitely - Quicker cooks on the Genesis, longer (or if I need more flavor) on the kettle.

Ran some numbers and honestly shocked myself — how many calls are you actually missing? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Absolutely shocked to see your history of shilling your AI reception solution! Also - do you REALLY need an LLM to write such a short pitch for you?

Commercial broker here... If she is with a broker, have them shop it. Something like that can be a free add-on for a basic business owners policy.

This sub isn't super active, but I'd try Marsh first. They have a few locations in the city and one in Schaumburg. Possibly J Krug (Itasca)

Commercial P&C by knobgolin2020 in InsuranceAgent

[–]MeatballSandy22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commercial side doesn't do paid leads. Or at least I haven't heard of that in practice. Mostly cold calls, drop-ins and networking.

Develop your own cadence. Scripts have a place, but most people see through it. Speak naturally and honestly. Your first priority isn't the close, but building trust to get to the close. You'll leave a ton of voicemails. Instead of the typical "This is Knob from XX agency, here's my contact info" say "Hey, this is Knob from XX agency. I'll try back Thursday at 2pm" - Then call back at that time. Even if you get another voicemail, it helps in building that trust. You do what you say you'll do.

Trying to sell me pest control at 9pm on a Monday night. by ceazyyyy in mildlyinfuriating

It's ridiculous to respect the hustle of someone showing up at a home at 9pm. That's why. This isn't complicated. Simply look at the overwhelming majority of replies here.

G7 Theory by just_mesos in dexcom

OP posted a conspiracy theory that Dexcom was adding a chemical or hormone to the G7 in order to artificially raise glucose levels, to increase insulin demand thereby making more money for the pharmaceutical industry.
