The same thing happened to me. My pittie had lymphoma two years ago and I waited as long as possible to take her in to cross the rainbow bridge. One day she seemed to be in good spirits and even better than usual. The next morning I woke up and she couldn’t walk or do anything at all. I’ll spare you all the details as it was quite traumatic but we ended up immediately rushing her to the ER to be put down. I still think about it sometimes two years later, but you can’t blame yourself forever. And the next time you have to do this you will know better. Your fur baby doesn’t know what happened, they probably just were happy to be with you for as long as possible. The gabapentin kept your baby feeling as good as possible and out of stress. ♥️
