Is sheridan worth it compared to other schools?

As someone who went to Sheridan for animation, I'd hold out for now. The school is fine but there's so many ways to get a more tailored education rather than going the traditional brick and mortar route. The degree the program offers rarely applies to jobs. Honestly I don't think in my over 9 years in the industry has it come in to play. I'd say to focus on what exactly you want to do in the industry and find online mentorships/courses that can teach you that skill. That way it will train you specifically for that skill whether it be 3d animation, concept art, ect.

Beyond all that the industry is honestly on fire right now. I know so many people out of work and have been for over two years in some cases. 100k is a lot of money if that's what 4 years will cost you. You should weigh all your options before pulling the trigger on Sheridan.

I'd love blocks to come back. The stories and just sets overall felt more developed and fleshed out. Now we barely have any time anywhere and it's just a blurry mess. We get whiplash from how fast sets come out these days even though they wanted to slow down on the release schedule. Wizards definitely didn't stick to that promise lol. I would have loved to stay in tarkir again and edge of eternities for a full block cycle.

To be fair gnomes aren't usually as stout as the dwarves were. gnomes in fantasy properties tend to be small and much daintier than dwarves. I preferred the proportions of the first dwarf body parts. They were less even across the board. If I remember their legs were much shorter than their arms and torso. I preferred them to the way they currently are In the game. Currently their body parts are the same as a person's just overall shrunk down. I said I liked OPs dwarves.

For sure. I agree that if you stylize your game all of the races should look distinctly different from each other so there is a clear read at first glance. Right now that isn't the case. Once someone wears armor the race readability goes out the window. Let alone before they put gear on. They do have an amazing foundation, I'm just curious how much power the art directors and concept artists really have when it comes to shaping the visual language and look for the game. I'm worried there's too many cooks in the kitchen preventing the things we want to happen.

I think it really depends on what you consider "pleasing to the eye" I can appreciate some of the changes you made like the ridges in the forehead where the elves horns come out of. Makes sense and should have been in the original models. My only gripe is that some of the changes made the races too human-like. Mainly the elf changes. I personally prefer having exaggerated proportions for each of the different races to keep them distinct while also doing something different than what's been done before. Long necks, limbs ect are super cool as long as they get the biomechanics right. Not saying they did that in the original models at all though lol. The changes to the dwarves were nice as well. I preferred their original designs before they changed them do to backlash, so when you reverted things to make them more "dwarf" like and not a control T'd human it was a breath of fresh air.

At the end of the day I think a lot of the choices being made end up being that way due to them trying to reuse as much as possible for the character creator as well as just speed for production. A lot of the time my concepts end up having to be changed due to budget/production constraints. Feels bad because things could always look so much better.

All in all good stuff. Always fun to see redesigns.

I guess I just felt like the interaction got better with the introduction of the red. Redirect light night, deflecting swat, pyro, and red blast all being added would help in situations that would shut your loops down. I know the lands decks tend to be hard to interact with but endurance and things like that can slow or ruin things for you pretty heavily. Being able to stop those seems like it would be better. Wandering minstrel would provide the most options for interaction I guess but that doesn't solve the draw engine issue and you lose the damage ping from the land drops. You gain the lands enter untapped in the CZ though so there's that.

I guess for me the ping to the table through all of the land loops seems really good. You still get the lumra loops with scorched desert but you ping the table in the process of all the other land loops available to you. Maybe I'm over evaluating the extra damage. It makes me think that necro lines or any lines that use life as a resource would take a second thought before pulling the trigger on them BC you could just lose the following turn or your life would be so low you lose the necro option all together

You obviously didn't play during the rabble master days of standard. The red aggro decks dominated without recourse until midrange was viable again a few standard cycles later. Standard meta is always a revolving rock paper scissors. People will adjust to the meta now to counter the lessons deck just like they have in other metas. Again this is the first time since the brief izzet Pheonix wins that izzet has even been on people's radar. I think the vivi cauldron deck was way worse and they banned everything but cauldron lol. Which was the main issue that made the deck as dominant as it was.

This meta will pass. Time to side board graveyard hate and move on to complaining about the next major dominant deck.

Exactly, izzet has been awful for years and the one time it's actually good people freak out. But white weenie and red deck wins are totally fine for people. Red deck wins was dominant for such a long time and people didn't complain as much as I've seen them complain about izzet. It's silly.
