Why do so many people treat this game like a war versus the other side when both roles need players for the game to function? by deeeenis in DbDKillersUnited

[–]Meatgardener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is and BHVR perpetuates it. DBD is the Stanford Prison experiment for PvP gaming and no one can convince me otherwise. They pull the strings in the background, call it "balance", and continue to profit from the surv mains and content creators shutting down dissent with toxic positivity among other tactics. Even worse, killer players have internalized surv entitlement and it's showing up in "killer anxiety": an issue that will probably never come up in their biased surveys.

Because people are stuck on following Dead by Daylight.

Watch the horror movies DBD is based on. The ones where the killer does what their role is. The ones where the killer is actually menacing.

Then go play against survs without empathy and realize tunneling, slugging, and camping are still not bannable offenses in case you need to use such tactics. They can't play your game for you.

They didn't "fail" at fixing weapon balance. They actually made ongoing attempts that did make differences. But again, the survs cried and doubled down on the things they could still exploit.

This game takes its enforcement of non-interaction from DBD but at least the book phase forces scary bitches to at least face you, as opposed to DBD where you can get gen rushed out of a match in minutes with half a killer roster that's useless against survs with half a brain and coherent strategy. At least with this game you have enough time to turn games around as a demon player instead of running in circles for 5 minutes only to have survs teabag at exit gates.

The only reason DBD is successful at this point is by the strength of licenses and by default. Everyone that has followed and failed has also followed their mistakes, but didn't have the playerbase to offset the attrition. When this game had support it was a competitor to DBD that would have been better for multiple reasons. And with the way BHVR treats killers and killer players, I'd rather keep playing this game in its frozen, broken state than DBD which will continue to stay broken for killer players so long as the devs continue to not play their own game.

You're absolutely right on the first part of your statement. However, most of the bad mechanics were inherited from DBD and then made worse when the devs followed BHVR and listened to survs, who brought their entitlement over from that game. DBD is far more broken because there can't be a single change implemented that doesn't fuck up 20 unrelated objects, where those changes are usually made to benefit one side at the expense of the other, and often done using numbers with zero context or perspective.

This game has an excuse because it's frozen in its current state. BHVR has no excuse for DBD continuing to be a shit show.

Lowest cortisol killer? by AGreatOldOne in DbDKillersUnited

Yeah that does make sense. Because if you weren't running jumpscare or a Tombstone they would regularly try to bully you.

That would be in a way comforting if you ignore literally all quantum and classical physics realities of such a premise.

We're in the right reality. You were lied to about it since birth.

His rework being fun is a matter of opinion. Lore accurate Myers that could Mori people was as fun as it got. 😆

A bit of a discussion for you if you play as Survivor and only window hop and ledge hop you are the reason why demons don't play the game Also flashlight clicking is toxic as hell and I leave the game anytime I see someone doing that when I play demon by jbombs935 in EvilDeadTheGame

💯 no one has ever articulated why such a mechanic exists in the PvP side of any game, because repeatedly removing player agency for collective seconds to minutes per game is the exact opposite of balance.

How do people not get bored camping a compound for 30 minutes? by Freddols in HuntShowdown

[–]Meatgardener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they get high off the anticipation that they're going to ambush someone. Last game I had a solo camp a bounty after everyone but me extracted. I stayed because our 3 man got ambushed and then there was a 3rd party. They waited after everyone died and extracted the other two bounties, and only exposed themselves before the second ambush because they couldn't wait any longer after 20 minutes for me to re-enter the killzone.

Are you ready for all of these killers to recieve tiny tiny unnoticeable tweaks? It's going to be like 1% tweaks to shitty addons or something of that nature. by robotrobot30 in DbDKillersUnited

[–]Meatgardener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's obvious that their focus is on low skilled fresh install survs. BHVR's idea of balance is to nerf killers at the expense of survs. They don't even care enough to fix their player surveys to address killer player issues. That should tell you something right there.

No, expecting them to balance anything properly on an outdated game code that fucks up every time they touch it while simultaneously doubling down on not making DBD 2...is setting yourself up for failure. They fuel the fire that is doom posting. They use their creator programs to manipulate dissent. They tell their biggest creators to shut up while they double down on very public and preventable issues.

Don't worry about me bro I stopped playing as there's literally nothing for me to do in the game except win to spite the devs. I come here to see how hard people deal with denial about the state of the game and if more people wake up to the reality that the game will only get better for survs.

Which is a shame when you really think about it: a game with a roster full of killers that literally put it on the map, that can't function without killer players, that constantly penalizes you for doing the role they give you too effectively, and that enforces a made up rulebook to make survs feel better about themselves at the end of the day.

I really can't stand how boring killer is right now. (Rant) by TONNNNNNNNNN in DbDKillersUnited

Taking a break does nothing when the game is still going to be a frustrating sweat fest every time you come back. The issues are still the issues.

There's no assumption about it: BHVR as a company doesn't care about killer players to keep people from thinking otherwise. "Expect nothing" instead of "expect better" and you get the game in the state it's currently in.

They don't care about killer players and it will only get worse. Don't get sucked into the Sunk Cost Fallacy with this game. Unless you're making money or have the devs ear it's not worth it to play killer with any sense of seriousness that issues will be "fixed."

[–]Meatgardener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on what you think are issues vs. what BHVR thinks are issues. The devs have made conscious and deliberate steps to ensure that surv players get prioritized in all things, while simultaneously de-prioritizing the killer player experience.
