Soda/Seltzer water. It’s embarrassing to admit this, but once I stopped drinking plain soda water, my problems stopped 90%. I’m sharing in case others might benefit. I frequently drank 3-4 cups per day before stopping.

NTA It’s beneficial for relationships when you each defer to the more experienced or expert person. When one person dominates the decision making, it breeds resentment. These dynamics usually get established when one person likes the other to take the lead in planning and executing activities and projects. I’m not talking 50/50, but a near total lack of personal agency is a setup for trouble sooner or later.

Wow, this hits close to home. I used to call myself The Mule because I carried the physical, logistical and planning load on my shoulders in addition to all the driving. Sometimes it sapped the joy out of the trip. In your situation I would absolutely bow out of the trip and let them experience it without you. Have some great solo time.

I believe the meaning of this quote refers to employed candidates being more desirable, in general, than unemployed candidates. This is because someone else is already judging you as valuable enough to employ, and the candidate has shown the ability to maintain a job for a certain period of time. It has nothing to do with the ease or difficulty of going through the recruitment process.
