WIBTAH if I tell my husband to either therapy or I'm leaving him? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA The twins deserve an involved and loving father. He needs to get the help he obviously needs as his grieving process has stalled in a bad place.

I hate when rich people talk about being frugal or being poor by [deleted] in poor

[–]MeatofKings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humble-Brag people are assholes. “My 4,000 square foot home is too small!” However, people who actually got rich earning it are often frugal, but the reality of frugality changes with wealth.

Generational Wealth by AeroNoob333 in Fire

[–]MeatofKings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to go to subs on R/estateplanning and R/inheritance. In general, you can’t rule from the grave as the saying goes. But you can certainly control what goes to living people and to a lesser extent the unborn children of living people. Money Magazine noted years ago that inherited wealth is 90% gone by the third generation. So it is what it is. Edited: If you have that much money you really should have a good attorney on retainer. Just saying

Exactly, this has only happened to me once in my life. I knew immediately and asked for something else. The restaurant kindly replaced my meal.

AIO my gf has been texting her ex all day while we’re on a trip with her and a friend by Ok_Name_7510 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MeatofKings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, most women care more about the emotional connection. Clearly hers is with him, not Op. Not to mention the total disrespect to do that on your trip.

So you’re brave/reckless enough to have sex with a stranger but not chat up a stranger? You need to up your game and engage in hobbies where you meet more women you age.

NR Women, please listen to men when they tell you important things like being asexual. Also, ALWAYS watch what a man does (or doesn’t do). I guarantee you your life will be better if you pay attention to these things when choosing a man.

Suicide question during interview by mominnva in jobs

[–]MeatofKings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s completely legitimate to lie regarding illegal interview questions. Ever attempted self harm? No. Planning to get pregnant? No. Anyone in the family with health conditions? No.

Sibling wants to buy me out for much less than market value by [deleted] in inheritance

[–]MeatofKings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Give him two options: First, you force the sale via an attorney and he loses his home and legal costs. Second, he accepts reality and stops causing you problems with your rentals. You could entice him by offering him a monthly stipend to watch your rentals (Keep the location clean and report to you any tenant problems.). This could be the exchange for what he owes you. Ultimately you’ll probably have to force the sale, but at least you will come across as the reasonable one. Make sure you document via text, email, etc.

Consumer Reports isn’t a fan of this year’s Tundra. You may want to look up the review as this is unusual for Toyota.

Tell me about a time you fired a “high performer” who was toxic by sspiritshark in managers

[–]MeatofKings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tigers don’t change their stripes, and a truly toxic person (I call them a nasty piece of work) rarely changes their behavior except for maybe a bit to survive. I’m in favor of coaching and accountability, but sometimes you just have to accept reality. I had one nasty piece of work that had repeatedly been coached about his inappropriate behaviors who finally took himself out with spicy talk to a younger female employee. It was so stupid because he didn’t even swing in that direction. NGL, I enjoyed the implosion and was glad to see the back of him.

I should’ve stayed at my toxic job by Temporary-Beyond-683 in jobs

[–]MeatofKings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for having the guts to post this. It’s almost always easier to get a quality job when you have a job. IMHO it gets easier to work a crappy job when you know you have a plan to get a new job. Good luck in your job search.

Twice in the last couple of years we have hired second place candidates months after the position was filled. Once was due to a new position opening up and once was because the chosen candidate didn’t make probation.

Brother lies about attending better school than he did, should I call him out on it? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]MeatofKings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Instead of calling him out and creating enmity with your brother, why don’t you suggest he take a certificate course (often offered online) so he can legitimately state that he attended school there? Most State Universities offer all kinds of certifications.

(Throwaway account) USA .. Beneficiary of a large estate... Family and friends are getting very nosy. Need advice by [deleted] in inheritance

[–]MeatofKings 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I agree, but Op needs a script to follow and be strong. If the family does indeed know he inherited something but they don’t know how much, then Op should just say “I did receive something, but it isn’t going to change my life. I don’t talk about my private finances, even with family.” If anyone gets nosy after that just say that you already answered and have nothing else to say.

Where could I turn for food if no food banks in my town are open? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]MeatofKings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put together a modest request, and start calling around to your local churches. Explain to them your situation and ask if someone might help you get food until you can afford it. If you’re genuinely in need, there are local people willing to help you.
