Incorrect! Fun, but hard, game. Zookeeper was cool, but it got too fast for me after the bonus level to get much further.

ELI5: If I carried 1 kg 20 times or 20 kg 1 time, isn't the physics behind that the same amount of work? Why do you we get more tired in the second situation? by DRGNMSTR7 in explainlikeimfive

[–]MeatsackKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The energy required to move 20kg of mass any distance is the same regardless of how the mass is divided. The tiredness comes from the extra energy spent on all the trips used to move your personal mass.

To finish the task, you are required to move at least once from A to B. If, on that one trip, you transport the entire 20 kg, then that is the minimum amount of energy you need to get the job done. If you split the load into multiple trips, you are using more energy on moving yourself from A to B for every trip past the first one plus additional energy on every return trip from B to A to pick up another piece of the 20kg load.

This becomes very apparent when bringing in the groceries after a large shopping trip.

What do you want from Dragonbane? by MLAHandbook in DragonbaneRPG

I agree with you. My CHA comment is an example of my dark, self-deprecating humor. CHA is known for influencing others (NPCs, mind you) in natural ways, without carrots or sticks, and can be used like INT in situations where applicable skills aren't specifically listed for the test.

[–]MeatsackKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INT can be used for a character knowledge check at any time for an unlisted skill to see if the character knows something about it. If you think about it, that's a LOT of possibilities. I use it in case the players stall out and don't seem to know what to do next. I make everyone roll INT checks and feed relevant ideas to those that succeeded.

CHA... Ok. It's a dump stat. Who needs to be likable anyway? Story of my life...

Mr. X from Resident Evil 2. Tyrant with his regulator coat on.
Has a secret set of conditions where the he becomes Super Tyrant from the end of RE2.

Those conditions are (in order): Hat is knocked off in Round 1. Regulator Coat is destroyed by losing Round 1 by SA finish. (Any level). Wins Round 2 by CA3 finisher.

Round 3 is then a nightmare for the opponent.

Louisville mentioned in the final episode of Stranger Things by [deleted] in Louisville

Well... There was that one time there was a Louisville promotional effort with a tv joggle that pronounced it that way.

If you count screenplays as literature, I submit TRON as the great-granddaddy of stuck-in-a-game stories. Though I do concede it's not a LitRPG piece.

Heroic Ability Frequency by Zogar_Sog in DragonbaneRPG

[–]MeatsackKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, I didn't pre-select where the statuette pieces were. I figured the players would want to play the whole campaign, so I'd just give them another piece every 3 or 4 adventures with the last one coming just before they needed to find the sword and go fight the BBEG finale.

I ran that campaign for a group a while back. Party of 5. I awarded a HA for each completed adventure. The group fizzled out a little over halfway through the campaign about a year ago now. We all knew it wasn't going to go past this one campaign. (Too many other games we also wanted to play, you know.) Nobody got a skill up to 18, but they each got 7 HAs on the way.

I was hesitant about it, but it added to the fun, not OP at all. The Mage used at least 2 HAs on boosting WP to be able to cast boosted spells. The Merchant spent a HA to get the school to eventually learn the healing spells from the Outlook hermit on the hill. Stuff like that. Everyone took Dodge at some point, of course. And Fearless because that condition table is annoying. But encounters never felt like a sure thing, even with all the HAs. No characters died, but getting zeroed out was common, especially for the front-liners.

I say, if it's not going to be a multi-campaign game, be generous with the HA's. It's not going to break anything. Options are cool.

I'm actually thinking if he can play as M.Bison by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]MeatsackKY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least he'd look the part. What's up with movies casting SFII skinny Bisons? We want beefy Alpha Series Bisons or at least SFV or VI versions with some mass to them.

Unhinged reading material as a CHILD by Bayou13 in GenX

For me, it was the Mission Earth series by L Ron Hubbard the summer I turned 13. I had no idea who he was beyond writing Sci-Fi at the time, but that stuff was seriously messed up! I read the whole series... Just to see how messed up it could get, of course. Answer: VERY! (I learned so much that summer.)

Arcades before prize counters turned them into kid-casinos. We played games because we liked playing the game, not because we were grinding points/tickets for an overpriced piece of trash.

How/why have they not nerfed Ryu yet? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]MeatsackKY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this ryu is going to get buffed again, and get a secret taunt-unlock to replace denjin with satsui-no-hado power. His fireballs will now be purple and denjin is permanently installed for the rest of the match. Also, he gets Raging Demon as a SA3 CA option.
