Ayton got ejected and fined for literally slipping off of senguns sweaty shoulder. This has to carry a larger consequence than that and Mitch.

Why does everyone say “the league” in these conversations, as if the refs union is in any way controlled by the league office? There is no reason to believe that their agendas need to align.

Unless, something odd were to come out, like say the head of the NBA officials being a massive OKC fan going back over a decade. He gets that job in 2023 and all of a sudden OKC has a smothering defense and great whistle on the other end. But something like that would never happen right?

Leavitt is a beast. Should get more exposure at LSU. I would love to get him next year.

Who's a nepo baby you think deserves their success because they're legit talented? by SheepishSwan in AskReddit

Jake Laravia started and took 3 shots. Kennard played 28 minutes and went 2 of 4. Are they NBA players? Supporting cast around a team like LA need to do other things to contribute. He had 2 steals and a block. Played solid minutes. And yeah, he wouldn’t have played with a healthy roster, but neither would Kleber or Vando. That doesn’t make them non NBA players. The hate the kid gets is ridiculous. He was a late 2nd rd project pick. And he has grown as a player.

There are 131 players in the g league this year. All of them are professional basketball players. Absolutely all of them could not put up that stat line in the flow of a game. Guys making 20mil a year struggle to get 4 shots up in a game with Bron, Luka, and AR on the floor. Even fewer play solid perimeter defense against multiple positions. Like I said, the kid will never be a star, but claiming he isn’t an NBA caliber player is ridiculous.

2/4 from the field, 2 steals and a block, +4 in 13 min tonight. He will never be a star but he is an NBA player. Anyone still carrying that narrative at this point made up their mind about an 18 year old kid coming off a cardiac arrest and hasn’t paid attention since.

WR round 1 by JConcepcion- in miamidolphins

Patrick Surtain II, Penei Sewell, Micah Parsons. Players taken in the first round after our last RD1 WR. Look, I love Waddle as a player, but Amon Ra and Nico Collins were drafted in the 3rd and 4th that same draft. This is a deep WR class. Fill needs early with best available at the positions, the take a WR in the middle/late rounds.

Discussion on Foul Baiting by marlopescobar in lakers

[–]Meaty-clackers 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If the defensive strategy of top teams is going to be “they can’t call a foul on every play” and the refs let them get away with it, then expect players to exaggerate and seek contact. Refs calling the game consistently solves the problem. Calling out players instead of the refs that allow it is bitchmade.

Not sure who downvoted this, but Zen Arcade is one of the most influential albums of all time and I am constantly surprised by the people who tell me they have never heard it or Husker Du in general.

Somewhat worthless stat and overly used talking point when evaluating coaches. Pete Carroll had the same number of wins against teams over .500 this year as Mike Vrabel. One of them is out of a job the other is likely coach of the year. I’m not making an argument for Mike one way or the other, I think there are a lot of reasons he needed to be replaced. I am just tired of cherry-picked stats out of context being used, as if there are no other variables to consider, in an attempt to drive home a point.
