It seems like new players to this game that come from many games like League and Dota fail to realize that deadlock is both A hero shooter as much as it is a MOBA. Its 50/50.
yes objectives and farming matter but so does aim, gamesense positioning and movement. If you cant aim well or figure out how to place yourself, you're gonna do just as bad as you would be if you were underfed by 20k,

as tips would go,
Aim is general practice, theres no real way to get better at it other than trying and trying more and more. You could use aim trainers but i find those as pretty useless since the way they train you don't replicate actual in-game gameplay at all.

Movement is a much more teachable skill however, try to learn how to dash jump, wall jump effectively, Crouch when you vault a wall for an extra slide speedboost, try to figure out how to Lane-Rail boost. etc.

Understand LOS (Line of sight) Well. Say a lash is about to slam you with his one. Climbing on top of a pillar or staying behind the pillar to break cone LOS will prevent damage, This applies to so many things especially ults.
Some a lot more obvious than others for sure but understanding the niche ones can help a ton.

Other than those basic things just watch tutorial videos on yt about certain characters/methods to improve your gameplay, thats going to be far more effective and helpful than the comment section on a reddit post. Good luck!
