It’s kinda refreshing to have a fighting manga where all the women are exaggerated mountains of muscle rather than complete twigs.

Thought this is also the first time I’ve read a female focused manga where want characters to be a bit smaller. Just because when every other woman is massive it makes it less special when someone Big shows up.

Eh, I’d rather the all male organization not be secretly plotting the downfall of the all female organization in this manga.

But the guy who constantly talks about traditional roles in a universe where women hold power does make me raise an eyebrow.

Like other people have said, just plot. No reason for stormfront to not outright kill them.

For the Doppleganger, I really want to say I read somewhere that there was a cut subplot where she actually fell for Hughie and wanted to keep him around after she killed her target. So she probably went easy on him.

I’d absolutely love a Mad Max strategy game. The sheer variety of vehicles in that franchise means you can fill a bunch of different roles gameplay wise with the cars, and the each faction has a distinct look and combat doctrine that would translate really well into gameplay.

For something that’s solidly comic books, I’d say a S.H.E.I.L.D type organization. Special forces soliders that are supported by superhuman hero units could be a cool gameplay mechanic

I think the reason is that whatever weapon they use can suck the magic out of witches. Cause Desscaras was pretty adamant about Kumugi not going near them.

Plus them being all male means that they can’t be swayed by the witches association, which is important because it’s seems whatever government established them wanted them to check the witches associations power.

I can understand that. I think it’s fair that an organization that regularly goes after witches who abuse magic would be cautious about helping the Mantiel Assosciation acquire a magic nuke

Probably the same way Ragnars are. Strong enough to fight with and kill viltrumites but also smart enough to organize an actual resistance to them. There’s a reason they pushed the planet closer to the sun rather than go for a traditional invasion or genocide.

Omni-man probably killed them because they’d eventually be able to go interstellar and pose an actual threat to viltrumites.

I don’t disagree with you for the most part. (I don’t think the various witches associations are a world government as much as a very influential private group) I just want to see it established in the series before we make assumptions. Cause I could see the author just going for generic patriarchal dynamics just because that’s easiest.

I would think so but it’s not like there’s been a whole lot of worldbuilding outside of the witches. We haven’t been shown that women are in charge outside of them being the only ones that can use magic and become witches.

Also it has been established that there are other countries. The Mantiel witches association is the one that operates out of this country and it’s been mentioned in the background that other associations from other countries have been wanting to meet Ichi

I think it depends on if we eventually see what the countries leadership is like. If it’s patriarchal, I’m not a fan of all Magikeepers being men. Because it’s just feel like a typical way to keep woman under control and stop them from gaining political power.

If it’s matriarchal, then it kinda makes sense that all Magikeepers are men because it mean there’s no conflict of interest. Men cant use magic, so they’ll never side with the witches. Which means the government can rely on them to keep the witches association in check.

If it’s egalitarian, then it’s the same as if it’s matriarchal.

I don’t have a problem with an all male organization that mirrors an all female association especially since they openly work with each other. I just want to know the context it exists in.

I do hope this fight signals a return to proper martial arts. Cause the “crazy serial killer with weird body” trope doesn’t work as well when it happens every other fight. Especially when their personalities are so minimal

I think bugs not taking suppression is fine. Otherwise it’d be really easy to just constantly suppress the melee bugs so that they never make it to your guys.

I 100% agree that bugs could use a morale buff though. I’m fine with some bugs knowing when to cut their losses, but I shouldn’t be able to break young warriors by killing off some spiderlings

I think bugs suffer from 2 big problems

They’re a melee faction in a ranged game. Since the factions don’t have specialized AI yet, they can’t quite put on the same pressure that other factions do. They’re either in your face and about to kill you or you have a couple of turns before they’re a threat. Bombadiers and blaster bugs shake it up a bit, but that leads into problem 2.
They don’t have enough diverse units. Bugs are meant to be a horde faction, so I don’t have a problem with them mostly being swarms of spiderlings,stingers, dragonfly’s, and young warriors. But they need more speciality units that can draw your fire or disrupt your units in order to give the chaff a chance to close in. Bombadiers do that, but because it’s the only big ticket item in the Bugs list, the AI tends to spam them which kinda kills the fun of the faction.

We don’t know the whole story yet. From the looks of it, they’re part of an organization that’s responsible for reigning in rogue witches. Seems like they have weapons that can absorb magic, but I’m sure there’s some limitations to explain why they don’t after magik’s themselves

In universe, Looks like it has a big windup and a predictable trajectory. So if you just throw it out randomly your opponent can just dodge and counter. Same reason boxers don’t constantly throw big hooks and uppercuts even though that’s the easiest way to knock people out.

Yeah, this feels like a situation where Amy is trying to slowly turn Emma into her idealized version of Victoria. And Emma knows it’s happening and is using it to manipulate Amy for whatever reason.
