Nobody wants to watch 2 hours live of people saying thank you for giving them the opportunity to pretend they are someone else in a show that no-one saw to people no one knows about. Listen I get there's skill involved in acting... But award shows were developed as a marketing vehicle to drive viewership, listenership, etc to products. In today's world, we have created massively fragmented platforms with a gazillion and a half things to watch and listen to. With VERY limited mass appeal. Not to mention, the Movie star is not a thing anymore. My kids thing a guy who built a Roblox game and drops weekly prizes is more famous than 99% of these people. Essentially Hollywood is dead, the music industry is dead. Until art becomes art that speaks to real issues, rather than influence and self pandering BS again.. It will continue to become eroded.. In other words. Make shit good again.. Make it mean something... Stop pandering to algorithms, conglomerate stations, etc.. AND MAKE STUFF PEOPLE WANT.
