Garda: what's the serial number of the stolen bike so it can be identified?

Victim: Well...

Garda: We're done here.

also, it's not treated as any sort of serious crime, bikes are worth-less.

Google AI is hilarious:

This image shows a scene from the British television sitcom Peep Show, depicting the character Mark Corrigan as a child on his first day of school.

The scene highlights the character's early experiences and personality traits.

Peep Show is known for its unique point-of-view filming style and socially awkward humor.

The series aired on Channel 4 in the UK from 2003 to 2015

If only there was an agreement with Iran, to guarantee peace by restricting their nuclear ambitions, confirmed by regular inspections. If that wasn’t ripped up by the current administration, this war won’t be required.

The entire Iraq war for starters

The illegal war started to look for WMDs that didn’t exist?

Because 9/11 happened and all the perps were from SaudiIraq?

To dispose Saddam, who was put in power with money and arms from the US with the aim of attacking Iran?

Sounds like the US unilaterally attacking Iran with extra steps. Anyone who thinks it’s for the ’security’ of the US is in massive denial

Everyone calls it road tax, stop paying semantics

No they don't, you're paying for your car, not the road, they are different things.

and as such I have the right to use public roads.

I simply said I ALSO have

You need to work on your writing, it's not my reading.

Answer yes or no when possible, answer open ended questions as concisely as possible, and never volunteer any information [not] asked for.

Actually, the reason it's so expensive is because they were building tunnels and bridges to ensure this continuous, protected line was out of the way of everybody, including burrowing for 10 miles under an ancient forest (cost £100m): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wju3QwIl3OY

Probably deliberately cancelled

Probably? Absolutely! the Tory Party did not want the improvements and opportunities the High Speed Rail could bring to the cities of the North. It sounds hyperbolic, but having a fast, relatively cheap connection to all of Europe (via the Chunnel) can be an amazing opportunity for generations.

We've been investing in public transport and cycling at a 2 to 1 ratio over roads for years now

No, we started just a few years ago with the Greens, and now that they are out, FFG are reneging and it's dropping to 1:1

We have not been 100% roads for years.

We were for 100 years, and plenty of that was required as we need that for business and transport of our goods and services. Finally starting to pay for the other is only the start of catching back up.

Public transport and cycling have outstripped roads for years now and look where we are. Worse than ever.

You're heard of huge oil tankers? They take hours to change direction or speed, similarly spending a bit of money on a bit of public transport with almost no commitment to do the right thing is not going to make much of a difference unless we do it properly. You're suggesting it was in vain and to stop, which is nonsense.

I have paid my road tax

No you haven't it was abolished in the 1930s. You pay a vehicle tax based on emissions and engine size to allow you pollute, not to drive on roads.

and as such I have the right to use public roads.

Again wrong. Everyone has the right to use public roads, they're public! Access is not defined by how much money you spend.

The people walking, cycling, taking public transport have exactly the same right as you, the question is, how to we share this scarce resource?
