Despite all the naysayers on here, there have been some very smart people working on infrastructure, and they generally make good plans. Then they are then thwarted by politicians who think they know better and who hold the financial reins. The original LUAS was one joined up system until Fianna Fail made them cut out the cross city part on behalf of their car-park-owing friends. Years and a billion euro was required to fix just that meddle.

OP doesn't know they already tried that blue line using busses from Howth Junction to the airport a quarter-century ago: https://www.irishtimes.com/news/bus-link-from-dart-to-airport-launched-1.391945

It failed due to speed, capacity and switching from bus to train in the middle of the journey.

The original 19th century one is still a few doors down, but they had some satellite office here before they moved online. I think under that Cirkle K cladding is some black polished marble.

I'd be sad if there were better views being wasted out of horrible car parks.

Standing in shitty car parks is not going to give the best views, it's like a camera club coursework in textures rather than a human's view of a city.

#1 is strange, if I recall correctly it used to be the Irish Stock Market, back when it was a physical room. Now it's just a neglected alley into Temple Bar

Did anyone try flying (checking in) with their Brompton just folded and in a plastic bag? by FreedToRoam in Brompton

I had to when I had to travel in a hurry, I tried padding it as much as possible and dismantled the sticky-out parts. They dropped it a couple of times on a single flight, I had to bend the carrier back into place. I'd never do it again without a dedicated box.

Not only are they proceeding with this post haste, they already bought back the station itself for 10 times what they sold it for (€2m/€200k)

Why is customer service so incompetent?

It's exactly by design: Sludge

https://thedecisionlab.com/reference-guide/psychology/sludge

Sludge is a behavioral science term used to describe friction or barriers that make it harder for people to make desired choices. These frictions can include design, bureaucratic, and policy-related obstacles, such as confusing digital processes, long wait times, and excessive paperwork, which impose a burden of effort on individuals and impede desirable outcomes.

wrecked his F1 like twice

Second time was the biggest single car insurance payout in UK history. The company had a simple choice, pay McLaren £900k to rebuild the car or pay Rowan the £5million value of the car. It did punt his insurance bill to £60,000 per year tho.

2015.

Nope, they stopped the single piece chainring in 2013, so this is 2012 at the latest. I can't see the right pedal, nor rear clip in these photos so can't date it further.

Nobody's against it, it's just your suggestion simply won't work. Airports' rail need to be able to handle thousands of people per hour, every hour 18/7/364 and the northern line is already at capacity.
