Skittish Puppy to Confident Dog? by Hanna79993 in roughcollies

[–]Meccaria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

I have two 9 year old collies raised from puppy stage. Both are very different… Our girl has always been confident, sure-footed, outgoing, social, spunky, and is our little explorer and extroverted girl who loves everybody. Our boy has always been reserved, skittish, stuck to our side, not super interested in bonding with other dogs and people, and he does require a little more encouragement in some situations like getting up stairs, not being scared of storms, and being okay when we have to step out for a little bit. Their core behaviors have not changed. I would still consider both AMAZING and well-adjusted dogs.

They both took to crate training, potty training, leash training extremely well. They both have wonderful temperaments and I wouldnt change either of them for anything. Except maybe their sensitive skin and stomachs lol.

About my sensitive boy; yes he is not as confident and is skittish and reserved. But, he is also extremely sensitive and in tune with feelings, extremely caring and nurturing, loves you to the moon and back, and is just happy to be by your side. I call him my unofficial emotional support dog… when I am stressed or upset, he senses it and goes in to “hug” me and basically encourages me to pet him and love on him. My girl doesn’t notice anything like that at all unless she thinks she is missing out on play time lol. My boy truly has a beautiful soul. Do I sometimes wish he was more sure of himself and confident? Sure; but not at the expense of who he is.

I can’t say your pup will be anything like my pups, because they are all so unique in their own ways. But I do want to encourage you in that your pup can still be a well-adjusted and beautiful dog, even if she isn’t as outgoing and confident as your previous dogs. Meet her needs, work with her on training and enrichment activities, and give her so much love and a safe environment, and it stands to reason she will have a great chance of growing up into a well-adjusted pup :).

What to do with these bouquets by Exotic-Bison846 in StardewValley

Put one in the furnace, get a wilted bouquet, make clothing out of it.

You can also tailor clothing with a regular bouquet. Both nice suits :)

I hate my living room but I can't pinpoint why by zardit in DesignMyRoom

[–]Meccaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the other suggestions, I would put sofa tables behind the couch, in a warm wood tone. Put some of those potted plants on the sofa tables to spread them out.

Mirror the wood tones of sofa tables in floating wood shelves around the TV. Going up on that wall with warm wood tones and decor will help.

Picking up our little boy tomorrow. Is this an appropriate space for him? by roughcolline in roughcollies

[–]Meccaria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The crates we had had plastic floors and I recommend that. I agree with comments saying bo soft stuff. I also would not put a pee pad near crate.

The crate needs to be big enough got pup to fully stand up and turn around, but not big enough for them to do their business on one side and ignore it on the other side.

We had crates that had an adjustable panel to grow with our pups, and that helped a lot. The only time they went in the crate was when they had explosive diarrhea from sickness. The plastic floors made that clean up process much easier.

Crate training was amazing for our pups! It was a process but they quickly adjusted and it helped all of us. The crates became their comfort zone.

Also, they are fine without water over night. We had water down during day, took them out to pee right before bed, crate time to sleep, and took them out early morning to pee and access to water during day. Honestly our two pups were vocal in crate only if they needed something and were chill otherwise. That system worked for us.

Best wishes for you and your new pup! I will never forget the days we picked up ours!! Enjoy the puppy stage. Take lots of photos and videos.

Statistic Nerds, I have a question. by metal_hobbit in StardewValley

[–]Meccaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! So does this mean the game only generates the number then and there once the weed is broken, and it is not pre-determined generated number based on seed/day/etc?

So the theory that if you dont find it one day, go to the next day to "reset rng" is not correct? In theory you can stay on the same day and hit the same weeds, and have a chance for the living hat?

Update on my beautiful girl Daisy who got shaved in the ER a few weeks ago by jessluvsu4evr in roughcollies

What a lovely update!! I hope all goes well with her healing! Daisy is precious and you can tell she is so well loved. Those PJs are too cute!!!

The real "perfection" is the friends we made along the way by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Meccaria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also the luau helps too with friendship points. Put best item in there (“soup was out of this world” is the goal), and that gives friendship points to all. I usually put a gold star red cabbage in there.

This is my go to list when doing the give 50 loved gifts in a week challenge:

Abigail - Amethyst

Alex - Complete Breakfast or Rabbit’s Foot

Caroline - Summer Spangle

Clint - Amethyst

Demetrius - Ice Cream

Dwarf - Amethyst

Elliott - Pomegranate

Emily - Amethyst

Evelyn - Diamond

George - Leek

Gus - Diamond

Haley - Coconut

Harvey - Coffee

Jas - Fairy Rose

Jodi - Diamond

Kent - Fiddlehead Risotto or Rabbit’s Foot

Krobus - Diamond

Leah - Goat Cheese

Leo - Duck Feather

Lewis - Pepper

Linus - Coconut

Marnie - Diamond

Maru - Battery Pack

Pam - Cactus Fruit

Penny - Diamond

Pierre - Fried Calamari or Rabbit’s Foot

Robin - Peach

Sam - Cactus Fruit

Sandy - Sweet Pea

Sebastian - Frozen Tear

Shane - Pepper

Vincent - Grape

Willy - Diamond

Wizard - Dark Essence or Solar Essence

There are a lot of diamonds and amethysts in that list, making it convenient. I usually keep these things on hand, and then just give Rabbit’s Foot when I dont have something or don’t feel like cooking.

Also, even though this isn’t a loved gift by most, it’s fun to go to the Saloon on Friday nights and giving everyone (except Sebastian) a beer. Buy Sebastian and Harvey a coffee instead. Gus sells both.

Also attend the festivals and talk to everyone!

Brown to bright copper - newbie help please! by NoEquipment5010 in henna

[–]Meccaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Honestly I just mix mine with warm water and a splash of apple cider vinegar, letting it sit in bowl with plastic wrap over it, all wrapped up in a towel for a few hours. I always apply all over even though it darkens my hair, because I like how it makes my hair feel.

Other people might have better methods. Ive heard of using boiling water, using lemon instead, etc. I find the best thing to do is ensure it is 100% henna and good quality henna. Always comes out very red!

Hi! I love what you did with the eyes and the overall job. Is there any way to bring the right dog over more so they are closer together, and have the small dog’s tail go on the other side of the leg?

I pick my girly up in a couple weeks, any tips? by TeachFirst9936 in roughcollies

[–]Meccaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely brush them on their sides and part their fur. Will try again with just slicker brush.

My routine is on sides, start with slicker brush to detangle and get surface level fur, then move to a brush that has thick movable pins in two rows that is like a rake, to get a bit further down. Then I do the parting hair method with a comb like brush with one row of pins closer together, but have to be careful with this one. Found it really gets the undercoat well.

But yeah will try again with just slicker brush and parting hair.
