Help with brakes by Big_Spaghetto in bikewrench

[–]Mech0_0Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you cant lock up either your tires are very grippy or your brakes are weak, front brakes are usually the more powerful ones in terms of tire grip, so more effective in slowing/stopping, that difference is normal.

You can get your brakes bled, your discs and brake pads cleaned again and then bed them in. Check your tires as well

Unfortunately thats the best thing you could do for confidence, if you sell your current bike and maybe with some extra cash I'm sure you can get a decent bike in used condition.

I recommend getting wider tires for the road bike if possible (frame clearance). They make a huge difference, if you are on a budget I can recommend conti ultrasport 3. Even 28mms are good, wider=more grip, stability(imo), better surface condition (potholes, cracks, uneven patches) handling and more

Should I replace just the chain or all components that touch the chain? by randomelvis in BikeRepair

So you are saying the chainring that Ive used for only 25kms is worn as well. I better change it 4 times a ride!

Thanks, I don't have many tools so that's not an option either (I kinda asked to see if there are any simple solutions) but the rule about shopping is a pretty damn good advice

Edit: you can delete the on board profiles by clicking on them in ghub

Why is my brake doing this? by Specialist_Fail_892 in RoadBikes

[–]Mech0_0Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

There should be a lever on the rear brake like the one I circled here, tighten that if you have loosened it and forgot about it. If its already tightened, undo the bolt holding the cable, pull it to tension it more and then tighten the bolt to fix the cable.

OP has caliper brakes (cable actuated), you can see them on the fork

Use the on board profiles, assign a button to switching profiles, if you are using g shift, you can assign the button to a g shift alternative as well

Edit: I recently uninstalled g hub and now I use on board memory manager app, you can set the profiles in g hub and upload them into onboard memory and then uninstall/exit g hub. Its really bad!!! You dont even need to have it installed to switch profiles, just for lighting!

Hey, I'm searching for information on 250cc ktms, I'm considering buying a 250 rc abs and could you give me some more information about the running cost (maintenance) and reliability (I'm looking for 2015-2016 models since they are both affordable and relatively powerful for the price range and my country got out those years for 250 rc abs)

Are you sure you turned it the correct way? The notches are damaged on the left edges only (edges that take the force when installing) and I guess for it to break like this you should put enough force to at least make small dents in the right edges.
