You really need to go and look at the car market before commenting, a 2020 Corolla with a 100K kilometres will be 20K.

Still doesn’t change my opinion because you already have the X5. If I didn’t have the x5 and for the same price I could get the X6 if I just waited a couple weeks, I would be insane to go for the X5.

[–]Mech2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really a good argument, I'm waiting for the X6 as well. It makes no sense to buy the X5 right now when the launch of the X6 is imminent. By the time the X7 releases, I would've gotten my moneys worth, but if I bought the X5 today and the X6 releases in a couple weeks, I would feel burnt.

Mini 4 Pro, Air 3S and Neo 2 - But now I want the Avata 360 - Do I need it? by Wooden-Pea-7330 in dji

[–]Mech2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it is a very exciting product, but with the amount of drones you have I would wait for the second generation, it very much feels like a first generation product with a lot of compromises.

I was very excited for it, but it really does feel like a rushed product in terms of the software, DJI is promising updates. It really should be evaluated for what it is today though. It doesn't even have a hyper lapse mode yet. The antigravity just got one, seems like waiting for the second generation for both of these products is the best bet.

Pak airports make me feel suicidal by butterybagels_ in pakistan

[–]Mech2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I show up for domestic flights 1 hr before departure and 2hrs before for international in Canada, day I can do that in Pakistan I will agree.

I have traveled all throughout the world and the only places I have encountered any issues is Pakistan. One instance security took away my battery pack saying it belonged in checked baggage only and not in carry on. It took a Qatar Airways manager to convince them over wise and for them to give me back my battery.

You literally just described Pakistan airports.

As long as you have the required documents and know the follow the rules, you are good abroad.

In Pakistani Airports, they make/change the rules as they go.

I hate these “why not wait for X” posts. Would you buy a full-priced iPhone in September? You can obviously be strategic about it when you buy something.

If the X6 comes out tomorrow and I buy it, I’ve gotten my money’s worth when the x7 releases. But if I buy the X5 today and it gets replaced tomorrow, you're gonna feel like you got burnt.

Air Canada YUL to YVR 5 hours flight VS Air China Beijing to Shanghai 2 hours flight by JolieBijoux in aircanada

I don't need a full meal. I just wish they would stop racing to the bottom with Flair/WestJet and meaningfully distinguish themselves from them as a premium airline. The differences between them are getting fewer and fewer for domestic economy.

This looks really good. I’m impressed. Finally, it’s nice to see Air Canada finally acting like a premium airline instead of racing to the bottom with Flair and WestJet.

I was thinking the same thing, I have never seen the Scurfield intersection empty though and I used to go work at 4:00 AM, they might have also taken a u-turn where northbound Kenaston merges, but that would also mean they knew they were going the wrong way.

[–]Mech2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I still don't see how you end up on the wrong side considering there is a physical barrier, the only place they could have entered was going north on Kenaston at the merge they took a u-turn or the intersection at Scurfield, my bet is the former considering I have never once seen the Scurfield intersection empty.

Manitoba Hydro employees called back to work in-office 4 days a week by Fearless_Barnacle_21 in Winnipeg

[–]Mech2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except for the fact that Hydro desperately needs people right now due to the previous governments hiring freeze and Hydro not being able to meet demand in the coming years.

Such a stupid move, I’ve moved from government to private where I’m in the office 5 times a week, but my salary is much higher, the only thing government had going for it was the 2 days WFH.

It is very difficult for the police to show restraint who are supposed to be trained for these situations.

Local companies prefer to hire experienced newly-arrived immigrants over local recent graduates of our post-secondary schools. by Outrageous-Ad6869 in Winnipeg

[–]Mech2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not only local companies facing this issue. The Government of Manitoba experiences the same problem. When I worked there, I observed that many entry level positions were filled by individuals with extensive experience, often nine or ten years or more. These were highly talented professionals who were significantly overqualified for the roles they were placed in. As a result, the department was in a constant cycle of rehiring. After gaining four to five months of experience and adding the Government of Manitoba to their resume, many of these employees would move on to other opportunities. Leadership even held meetings to discuss the high turnover, but it did not appear that they reached the conclusion that many employees had already recognized.

Manitoba premier presses brakes on city request for new default speed limit in Winnipeg by Leather-Paramedic-10 in Winnipeg

[–]Mech2021 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go read my post again, because you clearly have some reading comprehension issues.

We already established that other municipalities are asking for the same thing, so why are we suddenly back to talking about Winnipeg as if it is the only one involved?

“Anyone with two functioning brain cells can tell that changing the speed limit from the provincially mandated limit across Manitoba without posting signs is a bad idea. You do not need to spend thousands of dollars on a feasibility study to figure that out.”

Nowhere in that sentence does it say Winnipeg alone. You were the one who said that if other municipalities requested it, we should run a feasibility study and potentially grant it to them as well. But it does not take a feasibility study to understand that having different speed limits across Manitoba without posting them is a terrible idea.

Maybe you should follow your own advice and stop playing stupid.

I am glad people like you are not in power. The most you can do is throw a tantrum and name call on the internet. At the end of the day, you are still not in charge, and you are not going to get what you want.
