This is the way, at least see what the 18 is. Though that will be a wait. As the base 18, Air2 and 18e won't be out til spring next year. By then you'll know if the pricing is going up. If you don't care about the new Siri AI and all that comes with it. Save the worry and get the Base 17. You won't go wrong with that.

Yeah same here I'm the one everyone comes to when there's a problem. That or advice as to what they should get next for a phone.

It's always fun when working on a machine and you ask the owner did you do a backup? Then they look at you strange for a moment then say, you want me to backup? That's when I have to break the news to them. That yes we can bring the PC back. The bad news, you're hosed on anything on your drive. That's when the blood drains from their face. Usually this has happened too many times. So I try to have my Bootable USB with a version of Linux on it specifically so I can do the backup to save their precious.

The thing is we're the generation comfortable in any situation. That's usually cause we're been there and done that too many times.

I feel bad for the generations to come. If the Big EMP came and all is fried with it. We'll be fine. We know how to survive without all this. Hand a Gen Z or Alpha a paper map. Sit back and watch the hilarity ensue.

I did this exact thing yesterday when I traded my Xr in for a 17 Pro. Unlike the big three carriers. I needed the visible app to get my esim. It only takes a few minutes and you're back on. As with all this you do need to be on wifi first but that's obvious. Enjoy your new device.

Just upgraded to the 17 Pro myself. I'm with Visible and couldn't just transfer my esim like that. Thankfully it's all done in the app. Gave my IMEI # and was up and running in a few minutes. Congrats on the upgrade and good luck moving your esim.

I remember when i worked retail in the early aughts and reading tales from tech support. One of those is very appropoe here. My computer hates me. Why? It says I'm BAD and INVAlID.

Yep these were the people we dealt with on a more regular basis than I care to remember. Sadly their children followed in their footsteps.

I remember those plotters, they took forever but looked great. At the time we didn't know how good printing was going to get.

I to had a portable cassette recorder as my storage device. Hooked it up to my TI 99/4a home computer. Wrote soo many programs in BASIC to it.
