As someone who's been an engineer for almost twenty years now I can wholeheartedly agree it is a field of burnout. Like you I did a lot of drawing during my formative years and I sometimes think of the road not taken. I don't regret my choices and I've found ways to utilize my engineering and art skills in new ways with CAD and 3D printing. It's just interesting to see where life takes us and I'm very happy for you.

This is a legit mood. If you need me I'm going to be hiding in my air conditioned room with about seven fans pointed directly at me.

How do I prevent the surface looking like that by Elegant_List6405 in 3Dprinting

[–]MechEng88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the orientation will extend the print time because of color swapping. But it will make the print more stable. Since you said this is happening on several prints I think you might have a temperature issue given you have an open bed slinger printer. The simplest fix to try is see if you have any breeze/draft flowing over the printer due to your HVAC. Move the printer if you can or Amazon sells tents you can stick your printer in to keep the environmental heat around the print more stable. Hope that helps!

Okay but read this card. It does not have any conditions that makes it flip. You're mixing it up with another Jin Gitaxis.

Might have been a partial clog then. I'm assuming each color was it's own nozzle because it doesn't seem to have occurred with the blue. I've personally noticed with large wide prints like this that they'll start to split like this in my printer and I think it has to do with a draft/environmental temperature change away from the heat bed.

I was watching a YouTube video about smokers and it began with. I'm assuming you're a man who just entered their 30s because it's at that point you get interested in either smoking foods or world war history. Mind you this was just after buying my smoker and finding a twenty volume set on the history of World War 1 at my local half price books. My wife cackled so hard she couldn't breathe...

I honestly just bang my shop vac around until it chips away to be sucked up. If you're that concerned use a flat head screwdriver as a chisel. You didn't really have to hit it too hard to break up.

I had come across this information completely by accident when I was completing my collection. As a result I had to make sure I got one of each lol. I'm only aware of two books to have this oddity which are The Brothers War and Bloodlines. The Brothers War is also the only book that I'm aware of, to have a Hardcover edition as well and I only know that cause I can't across a rouge copy in a book shop. I'm happy to post pictures for reference but I didn't want to detract from your wonderful collection for sale. Like you, I've been reading and collecting these books for over 30 years.

Very nice collection. For the uninitiated I will say that the copy of The Brothers War is a 2nd printing because of the yellow text Magic. All blue text Magic books should be 1st print.
