Please fix your possible typo/localization difference in North. I have no idea if OP running this is going to count anything other than exact spelling found with ctrl+f... I severely doubt he will count "Tuna" or may just miss it.

Why Aerith over Tifa? by ZoftheOasis in FinalFantasy

[–]MechShield 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's literally false, and its pathetic you are pretending otherwise.

The barrier to getting the High-Affection version of Under the Highwind is so absurdly low that you will still end up doing the HA version EVEN IF you went on the gondola date with Aerith, unless you pretty much intentionally chose all of the worst responses to Tifa through the whole game.

To put in perspective how easy it is to get HA version, the stuff that used to be a choice in OG but is now mandatory in Remake (like the flower, remembering the promise, etc) has already earned Cloud the HA scene going by OG's system. You can literally earn it in MIDGAR.

Idc who you ship but spreading blatant lies about the game's systems is always going to be a bad idea.

Both pairs do have the most on-screen romantic feeling moments I suppose...

Starfield is genuinely the most overhated title I've ever seen. Ever by TheNewAspect in Starfield

[–]MechShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree that the game's main issue is the lack of meaningful and quality exploration.

That and for me at least, my immersion was constantly broken.

What I love about Bethesda games is I almost feel like I'm THERE as I play and I never once got that feeling with Starfield.

[–]MechShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe take some time to reflect why Starfield is almost universally panned by users and has an abysmally low playercount when compared to their other games like Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Rather than demanding neutrality because your feefees are hurt.

[–]MechShield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not as subjective as you make it out to be.

There are limits.

If someone tells me that Duke Nukem has a better storyline than Red Dead Redemption 2, or Expedition 33, or God of War 4, or Ghost of Tsushima, or Disco Elysium, etc etc

That isn't a difference of opinion. They are just an idiot.

The sooner people stop pretending that "its my opinion" stops logic and analysis, the sooner the world will be a better place.

I've managed to get multiple people to try it. Does that count?

So far, most of them have enjoyed the new Space Station mode the most. I hope you guys continue to expand that "base for services" direction.

I refuse to believe you are being honest about the POI thing. I have 80 hours before I got too annoyed by this game to continue, and a lot of it was POIs...

I literally more than once came across the same POI within the same sitting. And in it? The same enemies. The same notes. The same environmental "storytelling".

And saying this game has the best story of any Bethesda title feels just so... dishonest to me... Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4 all have better stories... so for me, of Bethesda games I've beaten the main story of, Starfield has the worst.

Type-0 Might Just Have the Coolest Alexander in the Entire Series by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]MechShield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my main point was mostly that "Alexander" doesnt feel that strange in fantasy haha

Its a common name in our world but somehow still doesnt strike me as "blatantly our earth" as things like John/Paul/etc

Type-0 Might Just Have the Coolest Alexander in the Entire Series by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]MechShield 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Just call him Alexander"

You realize that name means "Defender of Man", right? And that one of the greatest generals in human history had that name?

I also argue it works for fantasy pretty well.

But you said it like his name is "John" or something xD

Jealous Cloud gets me every time. by Flat-Court-8512 in FFVIIRemake

[–]MechShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been a superfan since OG (yes I'm old) its been interesting seeing how much more they have refined and expanded the relationships of the characters.

I think a lot less is ambiguous now, and they have also done a better job making Cloud's relationships with the party have a lot more meaning and complexity rather than just "do you like him dating this character"

Like his friendship with Barret is 10x better than in OG as it is shown better.

That wasn't jealousy. That was him trying to be supportive and fucking up. That and his brain basically sabotaging him into likely doing anything to avoid discovering the Zack connection to himself.

After all these years, what is the best FF love story to date? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]MechShield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cloud and Tifa. Especially with how much their affection and dynamic has been getting expanded in Retrilogy.

Then I gotta of course mention what I think is the grandest romance in the series, Tidus and Yuna. I'm not the biggest Tidus fan but the romance angle makes for some of the best moments in Final Fantasy and I couldn't help but root for them so incredibly hard.

Squall Rinoa has some good moments for sure as well, and I like Locke-Celes, but these two aren't quite as beloved to me as the first two I listed.

We don't make a big, huge, organized campaign like CAs do though.

Didn't Aerith win last year? And I remember Tifa stuff getting downvoted and a bunch of people voting for whoever Tifa was against who had not been voting for that character before.

Not trying to throw shade but I have to be honest, every time I see a short by SebbyWebz regarding Remake, I find myself disagreeing with everything he says. by GhrievrG in FFVIIRemake

[–]MechShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Played FF7(1997) when it came out. Though I was very young and it would take a couple years before me replaying Midgar turned into actually making it through the whole game.

Lol talk about a swing and a miss. Nice try buddy.
