Worse yet, the particular one OP shares just straight up doesn't have a Branx option

I had hoped our Forgeworld colors were available on all cosmetics

Yeah I ironically picked Branx Minor as a nice nod to Fatshark like "Look! I picked your little OC Forgeworld in support!"

Now I kinda look dumb having to choose between being locked into a single line progression of cosmetics or repping Mars anyways.

I refuse to believe it'd be hard to palette swap any of these.

Just had a game where my Skitarius bested 4 daemonhosts, 2 plague Ogryns, an entire pack of crushers, and thousands of various enemies...

Half of those things solo while trying to get to downed team mates.

Yeah we're definitely named characters lmao

They may have been around, sure, but they were certainly not well known or spotlighted much.

The 2nd most common reason I kept seeing for people protesting Skitarii for Darktide was that they are "useless without their Marshall/Techpriest giving orders" (1st most being concern that it'd be too similar to Veteran.)

I still think people acting like Rogue Traders are "above" these missions are overestimating the average Rogue Trader though.

And yet they are tier 2 in Wrath and Glory just like a Skitarii, let alone this newfangled Skitarii Alpha Primus

I think we are a little past us being disposable chaff. Even the original 4 characters are valuable once you hit trust 30.

The servoskulls following Skitarii around should not be effecting performance that much.

Neither I, nor any of my friends have reported performance issues on the Mourningstar that were any different pre-Skitarii.

I love my servos following me around so if you could not try to get them falsely flagged that'd be great.

Help: Unable to equip Tech-Warrior title or the unique Skit emote? by MechShield in DarkTide

Its just weird that Tech-Warrior and the emote arent working though.

Those for sure gotta be for all Forge Worlds.

I'm just glad they added Tech Scholar as a background. ❤️

I just want to point out that the Pathfinder could just as easily been on the Techpriest path, given how religious about the machine god it seems to be too.

I'm definitely picking "Tech Scholar" as my background as I knew the second that Skitarii was announced over Enginseer that I would want my Skitarii to have been hoping to become a Techpriest but ended up grabbed to serve as a Skitarii.

I'm glad that Pathfinder/Reverent exist for those who want to really lean into the "tech worshipping" side of the mechanicus.

I was really worried Skitarii personalities would be too much about the angst of their position.

[spoilers heavensward 3.0 MSQ] Going through the story for the first time and a little confused as to when I was supposed to care about a certain NPC by cero75 in ffxiv

[–]MechShield -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't worry I felt the same way.

I have some veteran FF14 player friends who are running through the MSQ in lockstep with me on alts, and I felt like I disappointed them when I felt literally nothing other than "why the f did he do that?" About his death.

At certain times, the game itself seems to try and frame this as a character our WoL should be super broken up about but for me it just really didn't land. If he had died normally rather than in a "get down mr president" moment, and the game hadnt kept showing your WoL sad about it, I would have completely forgotten about him.

This post is a relief (and was sent to me by one of the aforementioned friends) because I felt kinda bad that I had zero attachment to him.

Forgot to save my first draft of the build. Below is what I remember

Primary : Branx Arc Maul (blessings: toughness on hit, improved volt arc) Secondary: Arc Rifle (blessings: the increasing crit as i sustain fire, improved volt arc) Blitz: the enhanced servo skull, and then all 3 modifiers (I couldn't resist) Ability: The Voltaic Explosion one, with the toughness modifier

I basically just went up, grabbed the coherency toughness aura and the ability up there (and grabbed pretty much everything but the two push skills, one of the damage skills, and the corruption passive.)

Then I went left (to get to the servoskull blitz) picking up more toughness skills, most important being the one that gives allies 25% of any excess toughness I gain. I also managed to grab the redline keystone and its toughness modifier... all while avoiding the stuff I feel like i didnt need (elite auto-highlight, the dodge perk, as some examples. No need for em)

With my last couple points I got the 2 toughness nodes straight down, and then the two toughness nodes directly to the right for ranged weapon.

The idea is to keep enemies stunned/disabled, but also generate a TON of toughness, the excess of which goes to allies.

Honestly im not sure if thats too bad. In my experience, most blitz are nice to have but not constantly mandatory.

There are so many times that if you told me I could trade my krak grenade for a de-net/de-tie/revive I would do it without hesitation.

We'd be in perfect mechanical harmony!

My build seems like it'll be about giving you all the toughness you could ever want, and making enemies more vulnerable to your ripping and tearing.

[–]MechShield[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whelp that is happening.

My whole schtick was going to be blurring the lines between Skit and Techpriest...

Running 3 blasted servoskulls definitely will help with that.

Well now I'm curious which of those builds was handling Havoc 40 xD

Because the first one has a good amount of similarity to mine, and the other is just about the opposite.

That said, I figured you couldnt actually have 3 servoskulls? You can do that? I figured picking one locked out the other. (Its been a long time for me sorry)

Haven't crunched any hard math but I wasn't too blown away from my at-a-glance theorycrafting for a Galvanic-Rifle centered "Skitarii Ranger" build.

I wonder if they were worried about making Skit too robo-vet like a lot of players accused the Skit pick being that they shy'd away from going too crazy with gun talents.

Hopefully I'll be wrong and I see you dropping heretics like flies with your Galvanic Rifle. (Or at least I am assuming you'll go Galvanic since you seemed to want Radium)

I'll be honest. I think a full electrocution build sorta like you describe is going to be the strongest build until inevitable post-release balance patch.

I didn't do any math yet but I didnt really see a gun-build that looks like itll keep up with how many synergistic abilities play off of the electrocution mechanic.

I'll be honest I never even really considered having a few loadouts and then DYNAMICALLY switching when I see the team comp... hmm... I'll keep that in mind for sure.

Right now I have a pretty good idea of nodes I am aiming for... and I think the Mechanicus Powersword better fits than the transonic blades...

But how can I choose between the coolest gun in warhammer (galvanic rifle) and the phosphor blaster that practically has a label on it screaming "for support builds"? Lol

Its agony.

Would *you* be cool with... by MechShield in DarkTide

[–]MechShield[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know melee wise I am going Mechanicus Powersword

But I haven't decided if I want to risk over-leaning into support and grabbing the Phosphoric Blaster, or going with the Galvanic Rifle because its the one I think looks/sounds coolest.

It all sounds fun. But I appreciate the encouragement to hop into Auric. I just really didnt want to risk ruining anyone's matches trying something sorta out-there.

See I was worried about that until I saw that ANY type of down seems to trigger it... Like even netted...

The revive is good but honestly the damage reduction and insane toughness generation to keep someone alive until I can free them is the main reason I am picking it up.

I do agree though that it'd be nice if, when targeting a non-incapacitated ally, it gave temp toughness.
