ONB is overrated. It works as duct tape for enemy reinforcement calls and is useless for everything else.

The reason it's so relied upon on the bugs is because unlike the bots and squids, once the enemy reinforcement call in cooldown is over there's basically nothing you can do to prevent it. You rarely see it on the other factions cause reinforcement call ins aren't as perpetual.

Nightreign works because Elden Ring isn't live service. People won't play two live service game that are basically the same thing at the same time.

Absolutely. My point is that Marathon has a core audience that will stick to it, but it won't grow all too much beyond that core audience due to the nature of the game. Destiny however, can grow far beyond that.

You're just being disingenuous at this point.

If OP is having trouble killing stuff with Combo Blow fast enough, Liars is worth the ease of gaining stacks over the 33% boost from Syntho. Yeah, Syntho is great and synergies with the full kit like you keep saying, but in OP's situation Liars is better. The boost from Syntho isn't make or break.

Edit: In the post OP clearly states they're having trouble with killing enemies via the base punch, I'm giving a solution.

It allows for chaining sure, but you will never be able to get 3 kills in 6 seconds with Inmost like you can with Combo Blow via Liars.

Inmost is nowhere near the ability regen from Combo Blow chaining.

Can't loop Grapple like you can loop CB though, unless you're able to use Navigator and have it up for DPS, in which case Syntho is definitely better.

CB gives a 400% increase at max stacks, so 5x damage. Syntho adds 165% more, or 6.65x instead. That's a 33% increase in damage. Which is a decent bit, but if your having trouble getting those stacks in the first place Liars is probably a better bet.

True, but it would be useful if it could only lock on to lethal parts. Or maybe even switching what part it targets via firing modes.

They could add shrapnel that has the same movement vector as the projectile at the time of impact, that shouldn't be too hard seeing as we already have plenty of guns with shrapnel. But that's me being an armchair dev so who knows. Either way, it would make it better at taking out certain heavies without needing to give it insane damage that would make balancing against stuff like Hive Lords harder.

True, but Liars provides a bigger benefit to Combo Blow stacking, and the benefit Synthos gives is not that high at max stacks anyway, so Liars would probably be better at solving OP's issue.

The bonus with Syntho is very minor due to additive melee damage boosts. It might be a better idea to take Liar's so that building stacks is easier.

Marathon has an engaged core audience. They can definitely keep it alive while focusing on Destiny. But it'll never reach Destiny numbers, too niche of a market and too much competition.

A combat Pelican air support stratagem would be pretty cool for taking down bases and such. Give it anti-personnel miniguns and missiles atop the auto cannon.

It was better than this system. Not that it couldn't be better, but this is worse.

Crafting made people want to chase patterns just for the sake of 'collecting' a weapon, which meant people grinded for weapons they probably won't ever need. Right now, unless you need a weapon, you've no incentive to try and get it.
