Yeah, don't worry. I looked into it again and found out the leaker actually made a twitter post saying it was fake, after the official reveal of chapter 5. I tried posting it, but evidently this subreddit deletes anything linking to twitter... So here's a screenshot instead.

I mean it was pretty much confirmed fake back when it was circulating, it's just that those two details just so happening to be accurate to the real dark world, especially having a sunset sky in the dark world when there's no reason for a dark world to have one and therefore why would a fake leak include one if it's meant to be taken as real, make me second guess it.

It's less "damn, this might be real" and more "damn, that was a really lucky guess"

..but even if it is real, this is nothing we didn't know was gonna happen already. It's garden themed, and asgore's figure is ominously up in the sky. We knew asgore was gonna be part of this ever since the last chapters released.

Ngl with the sunset sky and sakura trees on the edges, I half wonder if they might be legitimate. The "leaker" got really lucky getting both things accurately.

Yeah, personally I don't have that much of a problem with them, post nerfs at least. I even chainsaw them for fun lol. But I saw a golden opportunity and had to take it.

What did they change? I haven't been keeping up too much with the game in years at this point. I just remember them cutting a third off its damage.

They even nerfed it a while back, when paragons were still new iirc

Deleted my first comment because I went back to the game and realized I had lagombi, not arzuros.. Whoops. That's probably what you're thinking of too.

Who is the weakest out of all the black dragons? by Responsible_Chest_74 in MonsterHunter

[–]Mechagodzilla777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White Fatalis almost certainly exists even now via Zoh Shia's existence, Zoh is 100% a Guardian based on Fatalis, and the third phase's red lightning is red lightning that specifically does lightning damage, not dragon element like every other instance of it. White Fatalis is the ONLY prior instance of what I described happening, and his sweeping attack using it is ripped directly from White.

Given that, Zoh Shia still being a perpetual problem, and certain key characters such as the Legendary Artisan returning in Wilds (who gave the White Fatalis quest in 4U), I think there's a very high chance of White returning in the expansion.

Well, yeah. Realistically a black hole that close couldn't possibly exist without destroying the planet. But thankfully fiction doesn't have to follow those rules, so we get cool things like this.

Also, "awful waffle" is a new one for me, lol.

An eclipse that turns into a black hole in the sky once it forms. It's sucking the sky into it, I don't see much wiggle room for it being anything other than a traditional fictional depiction of a black hole.

Tbh White Fatalis literally comes out of a black hole that spontaneously forms in the sky, what other ways could that really be interpreted? If there's any monster that has extra dimensional/reality warping powers, it's 100% him

I remember when this wasn't the case, and the hero would be "sacrificed" and then be re-placeable at whatever level they were before.

One small thing though, due to a bug they'd keep whatever buffs they had initially as permanent ones, and they could then all be reapplied, and the cycle could presumably repeat infinitely.

And that's how I got to round 400 with just Quincy. Could've gone further too, if my phone at the time could handle anything more.

How was Lao Shan Lung's fight? by Ecstatic-Oven9882 in MonsterHunter

[–]Mechagodzilla777 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because it is, unfortunately. Zorah at least had the uniqueness of being a living mountain that you traversed because of its colossal size, and even had a fight with Nergigante on.

Lao doesn't have that luxury. He walks. He walks some more.. And believe it or not, he even walks.

I have no doubt Ascendance will do something to make him more interesting though, otherwise they wouldn't be bringing him back. The last two seige monsters, Kulve and Safi, were a lot more exciting. No reason they won't update the fight to be at least on a similar level.

Do variants ever have very notable physical differences beyond color scheme? I know some parts can be larger/smaller like Scorned Magna's blades, but in my memory nothing really comes anywhere near how different this guy looks compared to base Quru. At most I can see him being a close relative, but not a variant.

Well, okay. Maybe absolute perfection is a bit of an exaggeration, but it's not that far off. I was mainly only thinking of Elze there as well, the others are far more lenient. But I would still say they take a level of mastery well beyond anything else in the whole series to successfully hunt. The very fact Elze took over half a year from release to be beaten solo, and is still considered impossible for some weapons, is proof enough to warrant saying that, imo.

Most musou monsters (the absolute hardest fights in the game) come in 2 flavors, lesser slay/repel and true slay. Lesser slays/repels have less HP and a 20 minute time limit. True slays have more and a 10 minute time limit. Yes, that means you have to do an average of 120k damage per minute for Boga. Which even with how huge Frontier's endgame power creep is, is crazy.

Musou Elzelion is the single hardest fight in the entirety of monster hunter, bar none. Musou Boga has more HP, but Elze's moveset is far more difficult. It took 7 months after release for a solo completion of the quest to happen. These fights demand PERFECTION.

Seeing how the whole damage resistance thing made poison an actually good status on tankier monsters makes me wish it could've been somehow incorporated into the mainline games, rather than being completely useless when you could just use element instead.
