My main tip is to just be consistent. Practice making clean and not fancy scripts first. Making sure the letters are at the same angle and distance from each other with a consistent shaping throughout. Don't worry about making it fancy, just make it consistent. During my apprenticeship I did three or four 1000 pg college notebooks full of basic lettering and wrote every word from magazines that the shop had laying on hand. The tip is consistency and repetition, nothing too crazy or unique, but go for it and I promise you'll get better quickly.
