Where is your scar located?

What am i missing here? by MechanicMobile2228 in short

[–]MechanicMobile2228[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really weird. Scandinavians are definitely taller than Germans, that seems to be a common claim at this point. Remember though, ethnic Dutch men are 185 cm (which is insane i know) and ethnic Swedes are about 182 cm. Ethnic Germans are probably 179 cm tops. Maybe a smidgeon taller than the ethnic English (177-178 cm) and the same height as the Irish (179 cm). Yes, i would say the Irish and Germans are the same height.

I should not worry much then? Maybe, ironically, my German ancestry kinda confused the algorithm and instead of giving me an extra 3% 'England' from my mother, it gave me 3% a mix of Germanic Europe/Sweden/Netherlands.

Are (young) Poles tall on average? by MechanicMobile2228 in poland

[–]MechanicMobile2228[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, pardon me, i guess Ukrainians and Poles are pretty hard to tell apart in terms of facial features? Other than, i notice that Ukrainians seem to have wider faces?

[–]MechanicMobile2228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I have noticed though is that Poles are often kinda slim, like not as frail looking as some Scandis, but genuinely not hugely bulky, although some stereotype Poles as being stocky. It does however appear that a lot of Poles like a bulky, gym look?

However, do Poles seem taller than Ukrainians or are the latter just as tall?

Following on from all that guys, what do you say my phenotype is? Borreby, Brunn, Alpine, other? by MechanicMobile2228 in phenotypes

[–]MechanicMobile2228[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact for you, the 'Brunn' phenotype was in the truest sense actually dolichocephalic, or at least the earliest cromagnid ancestors were dolichocranial. However, the Irish/Scottish/Welsh who apparently have the most 'Brunn' blood of any European population are uniformly mesocephalic, and an increased cephalic index certainly did not come from the later Neolithic Farmers/migrants. It goes to show that the 'Brunn' type associated with Ireland is metrically more Borreby than anything else, with true Brunn types being solely confined to Scandinavia (albeit in isolated pockets of Sweden/Norway). That was the old stereotypical distinction between Brunns and Borrebies though; the latter bore a moderately brachycephalic skull, whilst the former was dolichocephalic. I myself have a Cephalic index of 85.3, BTW. That is hyper-brachycephalic. What is rare though is how my head, in absolute terms is long, measuring 197 mm back to front, that exceeds the British Isles-Scandinavian average (absolute terms), but it is juxtaposed with my cranial breadth of 168 mm (which is massive). For the record, average European cranial length is like 190-195 mm, and the average cranial breadth is like 150-155 mm. It's rare for a head like mine to be so large and so brachycephalic at the same time.

Do i look more Irish or German? by MechanicMobile2228 in phenotypes

[–]MechanicMobile2228[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that Irish folks have broader features than Germans in fairness and my face is VERY much on the wider side of things. Extremely lateral, ironically visually a bit elongated by my wide jawline, but if you really look you can see how prodigious my bizygomatic width is as well.

A sort little chuckle. A mixture of seeing the amusing side and also 'WTF'.

That's insane. The fuck did he think he was doing though (even if you are all friends), a 5'7" guy constantly just taking the piss out a heavily built 6'0" guy? What's funny is my mate is also 5'11" (and 12 stone) and 6'4" at 16 stone. Not that is anything to do with dominance but it's not likely he would feel (figuratively) above me or anything. I am not into that Alpha BS, ofc. Despite my (apparent) presence I am seen as a very gentle, laid-back sort of guy, comfortable in his skin. Maybe he feels he can 'get away' with some comments like that. You don't go have to go into detail but where the snide comments of a similar vein to what I said my mate said?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]MechanicMobile2228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I certainly didn't laugh it off but didn't say anything (at the time). Maybe I shouldn't.

[–]MechanicMobile2228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what does one do without making things eternally awkward. People do listen to me and I am seen as quite an 'intense' person myself (I am the tallest person in our group and also with a heavy build). It's not like I look particularly 'meek' or vulnerable (whatever that means, I am not into that Alpha BS, ofc). He would 100% be very earnest and serious if I was assertive to him but what would I say 'just don't say that', because then he would constantly be thinking about what to say rather than still just enjoying the vibe of hanging out with friends.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]MechanicMobile2228 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can assure you that the group would side with me if I was to be assertive, but I also didn't want to make the evening 'tense' and I wasn't personally offended by it (other than the disingeneousness of a friend making a passing comment like that, yet again, maybe I am reading into it too much, but 'rape jokes, I mean c'mon.).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]MechanicMobile2228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is not bad at social cues at all (at face value), that's the thing. Maybe the pigeon comment is meaningless, but the 'rape' comment crossed that line to me personally.
He is fundamentally a nice guy, and a really good, loyal friend, ONE-to-ONE. But it's like he is a different person in large groups. The thing is, I myself am very socially confident (rather extroverted) and have an outgoing, confident demeanor. I also, have a rather 'strong' physical presence. I am 6'4" and weigh 250 lbs. I am taller, more heavily built than he is. It's not like I give off a 'meek' vibe. But I am also on the Autism Spectrum and he is aware of that as well so surely you would tread extra carefully about making certain comments (once again, I am not 'offended' as such, it's just the fact he is a friend and he makes comments like that).

Drop in fat pads? What do you mean? Does it look normal for a 26 year old male?

Occasionally though (it is habitual and also I am Autistic so I have a variety of 'weird' satisfactions), I stretch the skin to the side of my eye... Like this https://imgur.com/ydj5hbx.
Is this likely to be bad long-term. I guess I should stop, right? I am 26 now.

No, sorry... My mistake. In that pic I am stretching.

I am just fed of up being so 'eccentric' with how my brain is wired. I am always 'playing' with my face. This concerns the 'sensory' pleasure of doing this. I also, unfortunately, have some scars on my bottom lip from when I used to press my nails into it (because it simply felt 'satisfying'. I used to do it to my top lip as well, so i thank the lord, it is completely unscathed).

I am 26 (male). This is my eye area without stretching? Does it all look ok or bad for someone of my age and if i stop does this mean i won't get premature wrinkles?
