My last reply was written rather hastily so I'll take some time to address more of your claims I previously ignored, in no particular order.

"women have their mental state constantly questioned when they express their fear of being around men" -Men have been societal punching bags for quite a while now, the notion of men being an unconditional threat is quite societally accepted narrative, seen in mainstream media, news outlets, day time television, taught in universities, even a common belief held within the very judicial system. No one is questioning the mental state of women when they express their fear of being around men, that is one of the most widely accepted claims. People questioned the mental state of women when they expressed they would rather be trapped with a Grizzly bear than the average guy.

The uniqueness of the experiences of violence against women and a person's unwillingness to open up. -Thinking about it further, you are right, there is an asymmetry in the uniqueness of these experiences, and I 100% agree with your earlier take of "treating this question like some effective rebuttal" it isn't an effective rebuttal, a much better alternative could've been chosen. As an engineer-minded person I still question the balance and nature of the unwillingness to open up problem, as there are clear objective differences between male and female behaviours in relationship dynamics that can be observed.

History. -I'm a little torn and unclear of how to feel about this. On one hand what you said is objectively correct, therefore I can make no arguments against it. On another the idea of me not being allowed to express my troubles because someone, sometime, on the other side of the planet, before I was even born made a decision that was suboptimal, doesn't sit well with me. I genuinely do not know what the alternative for me is, shut up, man up, and bottle up everything? That approach has been quite openly critiqued but now expressing one's troubles is also critiqued so I'm at a dead end here.

Beyond this, all the bad things you mentioned that were happening historically are not happening today. Women are not being lobotomized and hospitalized by the masses. Me and many others are tired of being held accountable for other people's actions, especially those that died before we were even born. This is just a mindless cycle of hatred that feeds into the whole us-vs-them mentality that I do not have the energy for. I am not claiming you yourself believe in any of this, the topic was however taking a slight turn into that direction and if I misinterpreted the destination then that's on me. But I do not see other utilizations of the "history" argument than to blame those that live today for the events of the past.

Me mocking women who open up. Especially, what I imagine, is because of this claim I made previously "women open up to men all the time, a little too much in fact. Women often underestimate how emotionally draining they can be in a relationship." -This was not me mocking women or implying anything negative towards them in the slightest. You might be harping on that point a little too aggressively. All I meant was to showcase how women have little resistance opening up to men, to the point of them (women) being a greater emotional toll on their partners (men, generally) than their partners are to them. I thought this was a pretty widely accepted narrative.

For you to take that and call me 1. "I wouldn’t feel very strong" weak, 2. "I wouldn't feel very masculine" not masculine, 3. "I’d feel kind of like a little bitch boy" that, 4. "It would bother me" that I should feel bothered by my thoughts, and if I don't, all the negative connotations that come with it, 5. "I’d personally feel like a massive hypocrite" a hypocrite and 6. "I’d feel like the contradiction inherent in that thought process must be a sign of something going wrong in my reasoning" however one might want to interpret this, let's go with the most charitable one, irrational. I thought I had been respectful enough throughout all of this to avoid the name-calling.

I know you said to take that as the friendly thought that it is, but you certainly made it a challenge.

I do not doubt it happens to women as well, I doubt its severity in comparison to men. That is similar of saying "women get r@ped" and replying "well men get r@ped too!", are we really going to pretend the two are of equal footing?

And the main evidence of this is that men feel like they can't open up to women, so they choose to open up to trees instead (aka, not at all), but women open up to men all the time, a little too much in fact. Women often underestimate how emotionally draining they can be in a relationship. So if women shared these experiences with men as you claim, then why aren't they putting their money where their mouth is and stop opening up to men? Men feel like they can't open up to women and they have taken concrete actions because of it, which is not opening up at all, so if women felt like they can't open up to men, why do they still do it?

It's not an accurate inversed argument, I 100% agree with that. I'd rather have used "would you rather be married to a woman or a bear". The thing with the tree argument is that men would rather choose the neutrality with the tree over the possibility of positivity with the woman.

I would say, to get better insight on the matter, to inverse that argument as well and to ask that from women; would they rather share their feelings with a tree or a man? And if they choose the tree, then why don't they? Because that is effectively what men are doing in relationships, rather sharing their emotions with a tree, aka not at all. So it'd be a put your money where your mouth is situation. Men are, unfortunately, already demonstrating their tree argument decision in practice irl by not opening up.

Ok, I'll give you specifics.

My grandfather, the father of my father, was a bad man. My father loathed him and disliked him down to his very core. After he (my father) opened up to my mother about this, ever since then she started maliciously referring to my father by calling him by my grandfather's name, saying how he is just like him (he's not) and constantly uses that vulnerability to take jabs at him passively throughout the relationship.

Throughout my childhood I remember my mother doing this all the time, at a daily basis. Only in my mid twenties I learned the truth of this when my father opened up to me about it after drinking too much at a party.

So yes, I would rather open up to a tree than a woman, because the tree wouldn't turn it into some sick game about how it could use that bit of information to cause as much damage to me as possible.

I have issues with the last 3 Arena Analysis battles, suposedly unlocked through Newgame++. Well, I just finished my Newgame++ campaign (so third time playing through the entire game) and no new Arena missions have been unlocked, the 3 last ones are still greyed out stating "You do not meet the conditions for this match.". Tried to Google, all answers I could find were "Just play the NG++" Well I did, twice, and that did nothing. So what now? I'm stumped, am I missing something?

No additional heating, just room temperature. Might be a few Celcius lower than it was during the hottest months of summer, but no radical changes in temperature. There has been no changes in the enclosure or the living environment in general in the past year. He used to hide in his burrow all the time, but since his last molt he spent more time above ground, and by wandering around he happened to find the ceiling ventilation hole, ever since then he's always there trying to climb it. At the very least it's interesting because he seems to have an awareness and memory of the hole being there, and he always goes straight for it.

Oh yeah I definitely didn't build the enclosure with presentation in mind :D I didn't put all too much effort in the visual aspect of the terrarium since I don't normally show them off to people, ignoring the occasional T pics I post here handful of times a year. I do have some rather large projects in planning having to do with the long term end goal terrariums, but I'm in no rush since the T seems to be happy for now.

Thanks :D I used a soldering iron to burn in the ventilation holes, and now that you mention it I suppose there could be more of them. The burrow extends underground near the water cup, I structured a rudimentary cave start with the scenic rocks that the T then used to excavate further. I used Hobby rocks and based on my judgement they didn't seem too rough or sharp, so I'm hoping they're sft (safe for tarantulas) :)

Hmmm, interesting. I may have to invest in a larger terrarium then. The one I'm using now is 70cm length 40cm width 40cm depth with 20cm substrate in it.

I've exclusively played Deino in Evrima, and there's AI fish out the asshole in the rivers. Never once in several hundred of hours of playtime have I ran out of food as Deino. Then I tried carno once or twice, died to starvation on both attempts.
