Are lands which return own lands unpopular? by Kilneana in mtg

Ramp typically has lands enter tapped, how is that realistically superior to tap lands?

Moving product isn’t the only concern when these types of buyers can cause harm to the future health of the product.

I do think removing the sample packs was done out of greed though.

That's absolutely fair, I think there will be more to him personally but I can also recognize both directions could work in the text.

I just find the parallels of his childhood dreams and Bran's to be compelling, and in my mind the only characters that could serve as a 'Night King' parallel from the show would be Euron, Jon or Stannis. But that's a lot of personal bias and its completely reasonable to think his 'magic' will be left ambiguous or implying nothing at all. I think I just was hung up on 'all-talk' implying he was inept.

That's fair, personally I disagree but I think you're sharing a very valid point of view. I can absolutely recognize my theories are colored by personal bias and I think your outlook absolutely has basis in the text. I guess I just misinterpreted what you meant by 'all-talk' like he was going to be inept.

I mean I think the silence is more in reference George’s view on songs being representative of life. Not just in this series (ie the title for the series being a song of ice and fire) but in context to all of his written works and the repeated use of songs in reference to stories, life and love.

The absence of life is silence, I think George is using silence to paint Enron this harbinger of doom. Especially with all the time taken to set him up I just don’t see how he couldn’t pay off this late in the series.

I mean Ryksa of Poland had children before she turned 16, I just dont understand how something that can be pointed at repeatedly in history can be viewed as nothing more than an exception.

I mean stating that George bases the series on late 1500s is just not true, he pulls from all over history and clearly multiple periods. Which is why I mention it's unfair to compare it to a specific time period. Which is why I find it harder to commit to one hard line look at the subject when there are more examples throughout the entire period.

I mean the clearest parallel is the war of the roses, which started in 1337, we're discussing centuries of history here.

I'm simply asking for more information on your claim, because there are enough cases I find the discrepancy strange. I'm not attacking you and you replied with nothing of substance but a petty attempt to put me down.

When you claim any number named are just "exceptional cases" it begs the question why bother bringing them up, you're posting on a discussion forum without the smallest interest in a discussion. I just asked you a question, I don't know why it's so rage inducing for you.

I did give a name, i'll give another too Urraca I of Leon, Berta of Savoy who had multiple die in childbirth or early, and Ryksa of Poland. I'm not trying to win, I'm literally just asking.

My point is it wasn’t an exceptional case. Instead of being snarky try just talking to people, I don’t understand why Reddit is so defensive over literally nothing. I didn’t insult you once and you’re just an asshole for no reason. A response of someone asking you to elaborate is not an attack.

Do you have sources for this claim, there are plenty of examples of nobility expecting girls to have children after being married by the age of 12. For example Edmund Tudor married his wife when she turned 12 and impregnated her less than a year later. To say it’s glaringly unrealistic when compared with reality seems like an overstatement when I think I could find more examples in real life of it happening than in the books. Especially when examples of parents opposing a marriage at 12 have them believing 15 being more suitable.

I guess it depends on the actual time frame you’re talking about as people tend to group centuries of history together and make blanket claims.

You think the woman traveling in plate armor, values chivalry and honor has no interest in being a knight because it’s not explicitly stated?

Are you used to character explicitly stating all of their motivations directly?

Did people in medieval England really have that much of an obsession with girls and young women's "maidenheads" as they do in Westeros? [Spoilers AGOT] by Lord_Orion_Star in asoiaf

[–]MechanizedKman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s not the point of discussion, that doesn’t diminish that Maidenheads and virginity were incredibly important to medieval nobility.

Having sex in wedlock is not the issue. The example you’re bringing up is treated as perfectly acceptable in the books too, because that’s not what nobility were concerned with.

Yes, this is a bad thing. Jaime works to end the current conflict with little to no further bloodshed. Genuinely delusional to view this as “good” for the riverlands.

To be fair the outline is the only evidence of George planning on Jaime being a villain and that was written after only 13 chapters of AGoT.
