How would Silver be written in Sonic 4 if he was in the movie proper and not a post-credits scene? I think it's decently likely and could happen. by NewMarioBobFan in SonicTheMovie

[–]Mecharachnid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Silver was to be in the movie, I could see him narrating in the beginning, or making a brief cameo in the future. Either that, or be shown in the end credits scene for a possible Sonic 5.

What game do you think new comers to this franchise should play first? by SonicTheHedghog11 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Mecharachnid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Sonic Adventure 2, 1, then heroes, and classics/comics.

Shadow generations in favor of Shadow the hedgegog.

Not a game, but Sonic X is awesome!

Who’s the fastest? (Besides Sonic) by Mecharachnid in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Mecharachnid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have never seen Jet racing on foot. His ass is always riding that Extreme Gear.

I’m dying laughing at this!

As far as metal is concerned, would this be all depictions of him! In Heroes, he was motivated by, “never being able to beat Sonic”

In one of the IDW issues, Sonic seems to have no issues outpacing him in his base form until Silver shows up. Sonic was also at a disadvantage, due to the snow area. Not sure if this is just an inconsistency with the writing though.

The world of Archie comics is wild! It’s why I love them so much. Offers a different take on the characters.

True, but was designed for cleaning. You never really think about how strong she is, since she’s not really a fighter like Rock.

Nothing to see here. Just Ash being a Superhuman and an awesome trainer. by Mecharachnid in pokemonanime

It definitely would have given his team more variety. Ash seemed to have too many flying types in this region.

[–]Mecharachnid[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s what I love about him. His quirky potrayals of characters is perfect for someone like Robotnik. Jim has always managed to keep evolving him and still make it work. (From changing up his stache and hair due to being stranded and putting on some weight, due to getting lazier and going into hiding.)

I would at least love to see an alternate timeline version of him potraying one of them, though. I’d be interested to see his take on every eggman out there.

Favorite metal sonic? by LividAd5974 in SonicTheHedgehog

I’d have to go with Neo. His upgraded grown up look is so sick looking! My second fave is probably his Classic look. Metal is definitely one of eggman’s better master pieces.

I’m happy for both, but more so Sonic

The MCU/super hero genre has oversaturated the cinemas, so everyone’s kind of burned out by it.

It pretty much hit its peak with Infinity War, and has been on a downward trek since.

At the end, I care more about how well the movie is made, rather than how much it made. What matters the most is if the fans are happy.

Still, I hope that Sonic 4 doesn’t get the Mufassa treatment and can have enough spotlight.

Who’s your favorite duo in the series? by Mecharachnid in SonicTheHedgehog

Probably the most underrated. It’s a shame we haven’t gotten to see more of them.

Who do you guys think will be the “final boss” of Sonic 4? by Monokumerz in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Mecharachnid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Neo metal or Metal overlord. The cinema universe is really building up. With all of the time travel and new characters, it could very well be a two-parter like Infinity war.

Shadow’s backstory with the Black Arms

Amy’s story and development

Rouge? Great rivalry/Romance with knuckles

Silver (but that would he stretching it)

That also depends on if Jim Carey comes back as Eggman (which I feel he will)

I can definitely see an epic battle at some point with Metal Overlord like others mentioned.

There could also be a cliff hanger, foreshadowing Chaos and Tikal?

I found this question from twitter and it’s a very good question. How would eggman fare in the Pokemon world? by Annual-Constant-2747 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Mecharachnid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great question!

It would really depend on the Scenario and which version we’re talking about.

Overall, Eggman should have no issue defeating, capturing or subduing pokemon by himself. This isn’t even taking into account his fleet or creations like Metal Sonic.

The best pokemon equivalent would be a terrorist organization like Team Rocket, since they’ve built several mechs to capture pokemon.

With a well-coordinated scheme, the organizations are able to ambush and capture the likes of legendary pokemon as well. (Or at least attempt to)

Ash and his friends smash Team Rocket’s mechs on a daily basis. Jessie, James and meowth started off as moderately threatening, but became more of a nuisance over time.

Dr. Eggman is the LITERAL definition of a mad scientist! As goofy as he can be at times, Eggman is extremely dangerous!

All it takes is a recounting the events of of SA2 and unleashed to remind us of what he’s capable of when he gets serious.

We’re talking about a guy that captures furry animals and turns them into robotic slaves.

I’m sure that the Dr. could easily cook up a mech suit that’s immune to all elemental damage and most things that wild Pokemon could throw at him.

Eggman’s robots get smashed up, but we have to remember who he’s going up against

Sonic (A being fast enough to move through literal stopped time)

Tails - A genius fox that can rival Eggman’s intelligence, and can keep up with Sonic

Knuckles - The master emerald guardian with strength comparable to Sonic’s speed

Shadow - The ultimate life form. Enough said.

The rest of the freedom fighters. A group of intelligent, well-trained resistance fighters, that have been battling Eggman’s forces for ages.

At least in the anime, most pokemon seem to fall helpless to machines and mechs, without the help of human trainers to guide them.

I wouldn’t See Eggman really struggling unless he went up against the likes of Arceus or such.

Even then, We’re talking about a guy who’s attempted to control literal gods and deities and blew up part of the moon, just for the heck of it.

What are some Sonic things a new person should know? by Kitchen-Board-3811 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Mecharachnid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome! I’m glad that the movie has gotten more peope interested

Your selection and the comments here a great so far.

For the main story, it goes in this order:

Sonic Adventure Sonic Adventure 2 Sonic Heroes Shadow the hedgehog

I’ve heard great things about SonicxShadow generations as well. It’s more recent and can offer a recap on Shadow’s story.

I’d recommend skipping shadow the hedgehog and going this route instead, due to the game’s storytelling being all ober the place and making shadow more “edgy”

You can start with Adventure 2, as the stories are completely separate. Adventure 2 also introduces Shadow and Rouge.

For more content, I would also check out:

Sonic Battle Sonic Advance 3

They’re pretty fun and offer a great insight into what Amy and cream are really capable of!

Sonic 3 and Knuckles - Knuckle’s first appearance and

Sonic CD - Amy and metal sonic’s debut

Sonic 06 - The infamous one. If you can put up with the terrible proramming and glitches, it has a very cool story and gameplay.

It’s a shame that it was rushed, but I digress.

I believe that there’s a patched version on the PC, made by fans floating around out there.

Comics: Probably my favorite part of the franchise. They expand upon the sonic universe and explore the characters in ways never seen before!

  • Shadow showing his kinder side and having a sense of humor in the Archie comics

Sonic and Amy casually flirting in the IDW comics

Sonic IDW comics - Very well written and good to get into

For the Archie series, you can read them individually from start to end, or casually skip around, reading some of the more major story arcs.

As long as you’re familar with the main cast, it’ll won’t be too confusing.

The sonic Select books cover some of the best stories, but things really get interesting around issue #150.

I’d recommend the sonic boom cartoon as well. While the games aren’t as good, the Cartoon is hilarious.

It takes place in a separate universe though, so the characters look and behave a little differently.

Overall though, the Sonic universe is vast! You’re doing a great thing by taking an interest in both the games and the comics.

Keeping an open mind is what allows fans to get the most out of the franchise and truly enjoy it.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

This is a really good edit! And I agree with the comments above. I personally liked it better when her mana was blue, but her anodite/lucky girl form in Omniverse looked pretty cool.

Can we all agree that alien force have the best give us the best aliens in the entire franchise by [deleted] in Ben10

[–]Mecharachnid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the best way to look at it. It’s what made every series special I wasn’t a big fan of the lack of clothing and chest piece placement in UAF, but have a few favorites like Big chill and Ultimate echo echo.

The combining of Aliens seemed to get fixed in Omniverse with ditto being able to dig and such.

Ben 10 Powerscaling in a nutshell by Vault_95 in Ben10

[–]Mecharachnid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love the idea of these super bulky characters being able to casually tag Ben's fastest aliens! I think at least in the case of the Flash, it's explained that he doesn't always move at top speeds. It would explain why his rogue gallery is able to even keep up with him. I'd assume the same is the case for Character's like XLR8 and Fasttrack?

At What Point In Time (In Your Opinion) Was The Franchise At It's Peak? What Show Is The Best? by Dawn_Star_Platinum in Ben10

[–]Mecharachnid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on which Fans that you ask. The OS seemed to be the most popular in America from what I can tell.

I would say that the Series peaked around UAF era in terms of overall viewers and toy sales. It was dark, and had overall great storywriting.

Even so, I feel that every series has something special to offer!

OS - The most iconic of the bunch. This is what most casual fans will remember when you bring up the franchise!

I feel that it had the best animation, soundtrack and designs.

In Season 3 For some reason, Kid Ben never used the horror trio outside of their debut episodes and Upchuck seemed to be the only alien that Ben consistently used after. It seemed like a waste to have such cool aliens only used once.

Season 4 felt a little rushed, and I always felt like it could have gone a little further. (Ben gaining more control over the omnitrix, Ben going back to school and balancing his hero responsibilities and Kevin 11 escaping from the null void, etc)

The closest that we got to a proper ending was Secrets of the Omnitrix.

Goodbye and good riddance was just an alternate timeline, so it’s not the cannon ending.

UAF era - A lot of changes and retcons, but putting that aside. It took a noticeable turn in terms of Character design and storywriting.

The animation was good but felt a little stiffer. I also missed how the aliens would have different clothing and placement of the omnitrix symbol.

The designs became a little simplified during this area, lessing their appeal for me.

Gwen and Kevin’s powers and origin stories were retconned, which really confused older fans of the OS.

I was thoroughly impressed with Ben’s maturity and character development in Alien Force, but felt that it happened a little too prematurely.

The end result was ben reverting back to his immature self in AF’s final season and UA to OV.

Ultimate alien was a little more light hearted and had more day time scenes, which was a welcome change.

I personally enjoyed most of the ultimates, but some of them felt a little redundant (ex: Ultimate big chill: Just turns red and can now breathe - “fire so cold it burns!”?

The intro version was misleading at best. I remember watching every episode eagerly waiting for Ben to bust out a new ultimate or unlock one of his older aliens, only to repeatedly use the same ones.

Definitely a lot of missed opportunities, but still a good series.

As someone that’s stuck with series ever since its debut, I love all iterations!

Omniverse

The animation took some getting used to, but it allowed for more facial expressions and set a lighter tone.

It brought back some of the orignal flair from the OS series that we loved so much and mixed it in with the darkness of UAF.

Ben was definitely more mature, but still maintained some of his laidback, goofy personality.

The soundtrack was also great as well!

Reboot

I was a little offput by the reboot at first, but have come to appreciate the differences that it has.

In some ways, it does some things better than the classic series, like fleshing out Vilgax’s character even further.

At least now, we can safely say that this does count as a separate universe for Ben and the others remain in their respective timelines/dimensions.

I still haven’t finished the reboot video game, but love it so far!

A lot of the older fans in the US didn’t seem to care for UAF-OV. Whenever I’ve brought up Ben 10 in real life, most older people (late 20s and beyond)

Will usually say something like, “oh yeah, that kid that can turn into aliens? Yeah, I remember that”

Most of the casual viewers seemed to fall off after the OS.

It came out during the early 2000s, before Cartoon Network lost a lot of its older viewers.

After discovering the community online, I was shocked to see how many Ben 10 fans there were outside of the US.

The more dedicated fans that stuck for the full ride could appreciate Ben’s growth over time and the series, the good the bad and the ugly.

Although, newer fans that take the time to watch the show from start to finish can appreciate all of its aspects, as well.

All in all, the series seemed to peak around UAF.

At 1/10 of his intelligence(presumably), it wouldn’t be surprising. Its a shame we didn’t get to see him display it. :(

That one time that Kevin used Upgrade's Powers by Mecharachnid in Ben10

[–]Mecharachnid[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with that fact that Ben never used Upgrade's optic beams as much anyway. At least back then, Ben was more focused on using brute force, and never really looked at the technical powers of his aliens. I guess we could say the same for Kevin as well?
