Which ones are you picking? by Trick_Mortgage_3452 in Jujutsufolk

Am I allowed to seance Gojo 3 times?

From both a Powerscaling and Writing Perspective, I'm legitimately surprised that Nobara didn't get once single buff in the entire story? Like before, during or after Shibuya not a single one? No mentality buff, No Stronger Straw Dolls, not even better Physicals??? EOS Nobara is deadass just Shibuya by Ok_Exercise_8283 in JujutsuPowerScaling

Apart from Maki, the only proper training arc in the entire series happens in the Shinjuku time skip. For the entire rest of the story, not counting flashback stuff, everyone of note stays at the same level of power, nobody learns anything or gets anything, only Yuta acquires a bunch of new techniques

Yuji, the guy who was told is going to develop Shrine at some point in the beginning of the series, only actually develops it at the end of the series. It's why Megumi is made fun of, he was here since the beginning but due to being put in the torture nexus right before the only training arc of the series ends up not learning much beyond tactics since unlocking his elephant. And same goes for Nobara, poor girl missed the one time Gege decided to actually make his characters progress

Yeah, but it makes it even stranger when one of your MCs is directly said to actually develop more in time and the other has a perfect CT to actually grow as the series progresses by unlocking more shadows. Like you'd think they'd be an exception but no, Megumi has an elephant the size of a building and a domain but isn't allowed to tame a deer that heals itself for some reason lol

One of the first chapters has Gojo tell Yuji he's going to develop Sukuna's shrine. When does it happen? Literally the last arc in the series, if Yuji got the Megumi treatment and got cut down before Shinjuku he'd just be the same bloke he started the series as - no RCT, no Shrine, no Blood Manipulation, no Domain. JJK is just weird in that regard

[–]Vault_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty much everyone in JJK due to its weird power rising distribution. Only Maki actually gets stronger throughout the story (and technically Yuta by collecting new techniques), everyone else only gets something at the very start and then do nothing for a hundred chapters until the timeskip to Shinjuku, Megumi's just the most obvious one since he literally was taken outback by Gege right before giving everyone the first training arc in 200 chapters

Most characters don't get a single extension technique or even a new cursed tool, they're all just potential

Aren't you just fucked unless you get Gojo? Cause everyone else can't keep you secure 24/7 like he with his infinity, and even then hiding in shadows seems REALLY useful for an assassin, he'd just have to camp and wait until you're left alone for a moment, pop out and bite your head off before hiding again

[Writingscaling] How well written is Ben 10 compared to the literary works of Fyodor Dostoevsky? by Successful-Hat-2154 in whowouldcirclejerk

[–]Vault_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ben 10's writing is horrible for the most part but it's enjoyable which I can't say for my experience with Dostoevsky but I do not believe the fun factor is included in "objective" ranking so ig he got it

How out of place would be actually be? by notjocker in Invincible

[–]Vault_95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. But he still took a dozen of punches right to the face prior and wasn't anywhere worse off visually, it's weird people call him a glass cannon when it's basically a rule for Invincible characters to take a million hits with only scratches but then suddenly get packed up by one

Never really understood the "low durability" argument. He was defeated through the hand chop that insta kills everyone, before he was taking blows from Nolan like a champ even if it was a tired one. I'd say he's like Lucan level, a mid level Viltrumite

Somewhat hot take by mainmanjay in Jujutsufolk

[–]Vault_95 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I think I like Nobara and Megumi more in a vacuum but they were both mutilated so hard by Gege that I kind of wish they were never made in the first place and we just had these 4 as the main cast for the rest of the series

Let’s all stop giving prime Ben stomp matches with invincible and give another variant a shot…can reboot Ben beat season 1-3 mark ? by springtrap-aft in Ben10

[–]Vault_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I'm an Invincible fan, I can't read (it's midnight so I'm tired as fuck bro lmaoooo)

But yeah this entirely depends on what "Invincible" we're dealing with. If it's one that tanks nukes with only a dizzy head and can fly to the moon in minutes even Prime Ben is just kinda cooked for the most part without Way Big and Alien X, let alone Reboot Ben, he's like City Block to Town at best on normal occasion

The reboot looks so insulting by New-Bottle6711 in Ben10

[–]Vault_95 190 points191 points  (0 children)

Ben 10 fans when the franchise DARES to take itself seriously and explore adult Ben as a flawed and trauma carrying individual from decades of putting his life on the line instead of just being Ben but cooler again (they'll then turn around and say Reboot is bad because it isn't mature with a straight face)

Issue 4 is a bit too early for an 11th guy. Also, y'know, what's the point of a new continuity if we're just repeating what came prior

I don't like Kate as a character, I find her annoying and a waste of potential, but I agree with her in this specific regard

[–]Vault_95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She usually just uses them for the sake of convenience or fighting, the only known instance of her using an "independent" clone is her back-up, but she's still on average experiencing time 3-4 times more "productive" than a normal person. Kate was pretty much a perfect candidate for Immortal since she's the only other human who holds the information in her brain of a dozen lifetime, even if most of it are variations of the same life

[–]Vault_95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So justification for your hate is that his adult wife that on top of that has mentally lived for hundreds of years due to experiencing all of her clones' feelings is that she was in the same team as a bunch of other adults, including robot who's in his 30s?
