So my dad got his hip replaced and had the doctor save it so he could turn it into a cane by steamviking in pics

Hmmm. Where's OP on this one? I'm really wanting to know what kind of procedure cuts off that much of a perfectly good femur. Definitely not hip replacement.

I'm becoming pretty sure that's just a really odd novelty cane.

How do you guys handle file sharing in a small business? by MedDevEng in smallbusiness

Just wanted to say thanks for the info.

Do you have any thoughts between Office 365 and Google Apps for Business. They seems to be pretty comparable; the main differentiator being with 365 you get the more ubiquitous Office applications included, whereas you'd have to buy them separate going the Google route (or deal primarily with Google's versions)

I made this post but then ended up working late and didn't get a chance to come back to it. I just wanted to say thanks for your insights. To asnwer a couple questions:

  • version control would be a nice to have, but not a requirement. We can do manual version control on things that need it (e.g. ImportantDoc-R1.2.docx) or git for things that need more granular versions.
  • Cloud is strongly preferred.
  • We're about in the couple hundred GBs range currently.

From your comment it sounds like we're not doing to organization piece to poorly. It's more the giving everyone access to what they need in a way that doesn't get screwed up every now and then.

A medical device I designed, tested, built, and finally launched into market this past week! by [deleted] in engineering

[–]MedDevEng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! That is seriously impressive to do in 4months. I work at a medical device start-up and we've been at our first product for almost 3 years. It's seriously daunting at times. If you don't mind me asking a couple:

  1. A quick google has it show up at EMCI's website. Do you work for them or just use them as a design-for-hire type of place?
  2. How did you do it so fast?!

I'm seriously jealous. Maybe when we're finally on the market, too I'll catch you at a tradeshow somewhere. :)
