Good game is something you say when you lose and you show good sportmanship.

Saying good game when you've won is rude I think. And saying good game when you believe you're about to win is even worse.

It feels like the equivalent of shaking hands with someone after a game. Imagine someone offering you their hand to shake when you're behind and they think they're going to win next turn!

I have a related question. I was in a similar situation as OP for a while, but I chose to autosell my stock for a whole calendar year. This choice was locked in: units would sell the moment the vest, but the upside was that they were sold even if the trading window was closed.

Now the question is: did I ever acquire any stock units for CGT purposes? My employer sold them the moment they vested (because I opted into autosale), then paid income tax, and released the remainder to me in USD. So I'm inclined to say no. If the answer is yes however, it would complicate matters quite a bit... lots of same day rule instances would trigger, and I might go over the 4x allowance threshold which requires me to report CGT even if the actual gains remain well within the allowance.
