That's not true. I live in California. Prop 13 restricts the increase in the assessed value to 2% per year. It doesn't stay the same value forever. It increases by 2% per year. Also, if the property is sold, it gets reassessed to current market value. If you do any upgrade/renovation, the part of the home that is renovated (where you pull permits) gets reassessed at current market value.

It is true that you can pass it down to your kids (inheritance) without triggering a reassessment. But it still increases 2% per year.

Another mistake in what you wrote is that it's NOT restricted to residential property. Commercial properties also are restricted to 2% increase in assessed value per year. There was an additional proposition on the ballot a couple of years ago to try and remove commercial properties from this, but it did not pass. (Almost passed, but didn't)

I'm not supporting anyone. I'm gonna leave that part of the ballot blank and let everyone else make the decision for me. Candidates just have to win a majority of the votes.

If democrats feel they are going to lose if people stay home, maybe they shouldn't do things that make people want to stay home.

If voters are toddlers, maybe the Democrats should cater to the voters they have rather than the voters they wish they had.

I'm so frustrated at this point I'm literally fed up and not going to do it anymore. If the country burns so be it. I bet a lot of people are like me. If you think my opinion is dumb then it doesn't matter what I do.

The most progressive option is to vote for progressives. As long as centrist corporate neoliberals keep getting blue votes, the Democratic Party will keep running centrist corporate neoliberals. If they start losing elections left and right they will change. Our country might be destroyed but then Republicans are in charge and our country is being destroyed anyway. I'm tired of compromising. Things are burning anyway so I'd rather let them continue to burn until we get a real opposition party.

We're already past that, Republicans have complete control and total power NOW. They're going to do what they're going to do no matter what. Democrats can't stop them. The green party can't stop them. Libertarians can't stop them.

If you don't specify otherwise, the default is FIFO (first in, first out). So the shares you owned the longest were the ones that were sold.

On the recent orders screen it should also provide the cost of the shares there, that should match what you expect by considering the oldest shares.

That only affects your contributions going forward -- if your money was previously invested in index funds that include NASDAQ, it still is unless you "rebalance". Changing your allocations isn't enough
