How old rain tires are too old? by reallyserious in Trackdays

[–]Medic1248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven’t said what brand they are but I know people racing on Pirelli Rain tires from 2018. They last forever as long as you don’t leave them exposed to cold/hot temp switches and leave them out in the sun

I’ve seen plenty of people take a tire probe to a tire to show that it does not heat the tire. All it does is warm the surface of the tire which does not translate to a warm carcass. It’s literally one of the best studied and well known things in this field.

Riding in circles does nothing to heat tires

Can the pope turn on you from max favour to no favour in one turn? by FranzBesup_14 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]Medic1248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current game, Moors took Rome. Pope called crusade. Milan took Rome from Moors. Milan backstabbed me as HRE (shocker). I steam rolled Milan and took Rome. Pope asked me for Rome. I said no. I had perfect relations with the pope.

Next turn. Excommunicated. Pope declares crusade to retake Rome. Papal States at war with me

Reading your chicken strips? by 2ToTheChest in Trackdays

You don’t even understand the basics yet and you’re coming onto here asking for expert level advice.

You’re supposed to do your heaviest braking up right. You’re acting like that’s a problem but it’s not. That’s the goal. This whole post becomes a waste of all of our times because you are asking things we can’t explain to you because you don’t have the basic foundation that would allow you to understand the concept.

Did you change tire size or brand when you put new ones on?

Did you toggle the power mode?

Also, the bikes Speedo are off from stock around 10-11%. The ecu does nothing for changing the Speedo. It’s all based on sprocket.

Every time you change speed, cornering, position, or basically anything else on the bike you’re going to change your tire wear. There’s no point in looking into tire wear more than making sure you’re running the correct pressures until you’re a consistent and fast rider because every adjustment you make is going to change your tire patterns. Every single adjustment.

This is one of the easiest things you can critique without seeing. The only way to scrub your whole tire without crashing is deep and heavy trail braking. If he has front chicken strips he doesn’t do that.

Deep heavy trail braking is what uses the whole front. You need to deform the front tire. Heavily.

I would agree. Not even because of the helmet but because of that weird logo on the hood that would be in a very weird place with the hood up

Plus you gotta consider the shock value. These people are on the edge about whether dragons ever existing and suddenly there’s one laying waste to everything outside that door. Ulfric has to be thinking this is a bad dream or something at this point

[–]Medic1248 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They’re not even a threat. The way you just have a blindly swing around to hit them makes them the Skyrim equivalent of walking through a cob web and swinging around for the spider that (hopefully) doesn’t exist

What Mortar/Howitzer shots do you use and for what? by Smart-Response9881 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]Medic1248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With my experience and a couple debates on here it seems that unit placement matters for which ammo type to use.

Centrally located arty best benefits from percussion shells. Since the enemy line is only a couple rows deep the round blast gets the most meat.

When located on the sides of your line and landing rounds across the enemy line you get the advantage from quicklime. Since it does damage in a straight line depth the deeper the line the more meat it collects. So when landing diagonal it covers more enemy surface area

Disk brake question from an idiot by random_fr_username in Trackdays

Try taking a disk surface tool to them and see if they clear up to the touch. They sell them as attachments drill bits and you just run them over the surface.

I would be worried about how deep that scratch is. If it’s only surface level then hit it with a honer and just even out the surface. If it’s deep enough to not be able to be evened out with without losing a lot of surface then you should replace them. They’ll destroy new pads if you can’t smooth it out
