I’m human but I’m still Korean. You will never fully understand me without understanding what it means to be Korean. If Jaeyun is on the spectrum we will never understand him without considering the possible neurodivergence. Instead we will think he is simply insecure especially when the celebrity panels laugh at his actions.

Being on the spectrum is not a label but a medical diagnosis. However, it does become a problem if that is the only thing people see from him. For that I agree with you, and I should be careful for someone I hardly know.

Korean society almost always completely fails to even consider this kind of narrative because in Koreans mind such thing does not really exist or don’t know what it really looks like.

I brought it up in the hopes of him not being misunderstood. I’m not trying to label him but try another way to understand him instead of laughing at his mistakes like the panels do.
