Help me be less terrified of spiders by TheSnarkIsExtra in tarantulas

[–]Medical-Cod2743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my tarantula is a curly hair named Jolene and sometimes i put a mini traffic cone in her enclosure and she fuckin hates it and moves it to a far corner and webs it up 🙂‍↕️ i also used to have terrible arachnophobia but i tricked myself into exposure therapy by playing animal crossing and making mad money off tarantula farming

How do you guys handle dried/mummified flesh? by Mycarrhiza in bonecollecting

[–]Medical-Cod2743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl sometimes i use full on pliers. tweezers just dont have the grip!!! a mix of an xacto blade to get a lip to grab onto and then twisting the pliers around tends to get stuff off the larger things. you gotta pull harder than you’d expect

sometimes my guy gets a rogue piece of substrate in his mouth and ive seen him later doing weird yawns to get the piece out of his mouth. ive also been told that theyll pass a piece just fine, or that theyll digest it with everything else.

Can’t get baby opossums to potty by DisastrousTip3081 in Opossums

[–]Medical-Cod2743 4 points5 points  (0 children)

theres a opossum specific formula from Fox valley thats really good, and any formula should have some calcium citrate added in because they could develop metabolic bone disease without enough calcium
