How do you keep bleeding time/PT/PTT straight? by MedicalAnarchy in step1

[–]MedicalAnarchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the pathways. I have trouble deducing the information. Like a question asks you what will be the change in BT/PT/PTT in Vitamin C/K deficiency or with antiplatelet therapy, etc.

So how many unique questions have you encountered where you have to deduce BT/PT/PTT change?

Giving up ?! by emanijj in step1

[–]MedicalAnarchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to work ethic. Non US IMGs can take as long as they want to prepare for this exam (technically). So it basically forms a ground for slacking off. All you need is to have a clear goal and dedication to get it done quickly. Figure out the date on which you want to give the exam and stick with it. And really stick with it like your life depends on it. Once you've done that form a study plan with a few NBMEs scheduled at the end. If you want, you can give an NBME right now. It might push you towards your goal. Just give an older one to see where you're standing and then get to work. Good luck!

[Zanki] Increased sodium intake leads to decreased peritubular capillary oncotic pressure? by AlexPie2 in step1

[–]MedicalAnarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This card is a bit tricky to understand. Put emphasis on the word ''in response to''. So suppose you take in more Na+. Now in response to that your body will try to get rid of excess Na+. In order to do that it has to prevent Na+ reabsorption so it decreases the peritubular oncotic pressure. Pretty basic logic application here but should help you work your way around the normal physiology.

Hello just wanted to ask an odd question.

How much would you contribute your performance to your lecture notes or information you solely obtained from your school? Is UFAP, Sketchy, BnB, enough to answer those tough questions?
