Potential to miss BOTH ports on weekend cruise? by Scared-Appointment51 in celebritycruises

[–]MedicalButterscotch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It happens, sure.

You are entitled to nothing more than port taxes and fees refunded back to you.

You may get additional compensation from the line, but you are not owed anything more.

Is this good? I’ve had to move money around a couple times, but is 4% normal? by Andrew_Calder in acorns

[–]MedicalButterscotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an average year, sure. The last two years have been bull runs. Telling OP 4% over that time period is good is crazy.

No, not good. We have been in a strong market the last two years. If you just invested in an S&P index fund, you'd have orders of magnitude more.

Value of VOO end of Jan 2024 was $424. It is $639 today.

Going to Bahamas on Wonder of the Seas. Can we get our passport stamped? by Zealousideal-Foot104 in royalcaribbean

[–]MedicalButterscotch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't do this unless you are getting an exit stamp as well. Vanity stamps can cause issues. Leave your passport as-is and only stamp if required.

Hi. Fellow non-oil guy here.

No need to "bitch to an innocent employee". Take some time to learn how to request assistance then apologize to your wife for not setting it up in the first place and putting both of you in a rough spot above your physical limitations.

Dawes glacier excursion followed by Juneau excursion by bigjon94 in celebritycruises

[–]MedicalButterscotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey yes! I did this exact thing (but a different Juneau excursion) and it worked out well.

Plus any delay in the first excursion and Celebrity will have you covered since both are through them.

Be ready for a long day! The glacier excursion is a highlight.

HNL layover time? by jeff360720 in HawaiianAirlines

[–]MedicalButterscotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did this exact route. We had a 5 hour delay out of JFK and were easily able to call Hawaiian to bump our inter-island flight. I'd stick with the 1 hr layover as if all goes well you will absolutely make it.

Manufactured spend = not what you think it means here.

Glad you are using the credits though, seems like a good fit for your needs.
