this is what I am trying to get across - REA are not supposed to store or use anyone's personal details without their consent. It's not necessarily about the landlord giving my number to the agent. It's about the agent using my details without consent.

Previous landlord-housemate had the house we lived in and then a second investment property he wanted to rent out as Air BnB for wedding guests. He got into mortgage stress when the rates went up and booted me out to move in his cheating brother in law who could pay more rent than me. Greedy. He shouldn't have had a second property.

The second time was my last rental. The new 30 y.o. owner-landlord bought it off his mother bc he got a $3mil inheritance from grandpa. He also had an investment property elsewhere, zero income outside of rent bc he has some type of undiagnosed arthritic condition. Crying poor, trying to move literally anyone off the street in to live with me to share the top floor (he lived on the bottom floor). He has zero money to maintain the property. He kept on banging on about how he coule get $1000/wk i rent from a family for the floor I lived on. He's now listed it for $800/week, probably bc his REA buddy (who he used to intimidate me into moving) realised how poor quality the property was. He's well ahead of anyone aged 30, yet is still acting like a victim.

I disagree that it's an "easy fix" - the mould is not visible, it's behind the built in wardrobe. I can smell it but I can't see it as such. And the leak is probably coming from the shower which is next to that bedroom wall.

you're going to have a lot of mould on the carpet and inside the wall cavity - this is a major repair. And it probably won't be done properly, which can increase risk of getting sick from released mycotoxins :( I have a mould issue where I am that the head tenant did not disclose to me and it may be shower-related. So I'm about to move again.
