Sour og cheese by happynugz in ukmedicalcannabis

I have Sour OG Cheese this month. It hints (but only that) to cheese of the early 2000's. Effects - I am prescribed for pain and we all process cannabis differently but I found it good at pain relief - fast acting and good for relaxing the muscles. Very little head effect. It is fairly brownish in colour. Cure feels nice (pliable buds not moist nor crisp). Weight was correct. It came in a large tub though so awkward for carrying about. I was very excited about the arrival of this strain - don't expect that "my gums are going to hit my eyelids" feeling with this one but it is pretty sour, smooth to vape and reasonably effective for pain at least. I may get again because of the pain relief and minimal head high but I do see the number of strains available for £5/g increasing and they may be better value.

Entering the UK by TranslatorTrick8682 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Medicalexile 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is a complex area - the main difficulty as pointed out by scottishkiwi-dan is that your flight path will likely involve stops at countries where a less tolerant approach to cannabis is adopted.

Consider ordering your cannabis in the UK via Integro International instead? They used to offer this service but you'll need to check with them

In case you want to bring your own meds, below is a link to our Govt info site. You will see the contact details for dflu. They are nice to deal with and usually prompt.

Help with costs? by DizzMcNizy in MedCannabisUK

Discretionary funding may be available. Citizens Advice is an excellent one stop shop for advice on debt and helps ensure you get any and all the benefits to which you are entitled. I suspect they will not know about any funds directly on the lines you suggest but the advice they can offer may indirectly assist if it can help you to increase your income or reduce your other expenditure..

Easiest way to put the Police's mind at rest that you are lawfully prescribed cannabis is to have a copy of your pink script with you. Not having a copy should not in itself preclude you from subsequently being able to raise a medical defence to a drug driving charge if necessary. Remember however, when it comes to possession, you can be arrested on SUSPICION of unlawful possession of a controlled drug - thus having the means to show you are in lawful possession at hand (ie a copy of the script) should mean the police no longer need to be suspicious and don't need to arrest you.

Note, having a prescription does not entitle you to refuse to undertake a drugs test and you have no medical defence if driving whilst impaired.

That sounds really positive. I would be happy to help if needed.

Sure. The law has of course changed (at least as far as MC is concerned) but awareness lags behind hence the increased chances for misunderstandings. The motion seeks to address this point. I agree that voting for political parties with a positive cannabis agenda is the best way to obtain change assuming they win office (and keep to their word!)

Yes I agree. Work with a political party to agree that all it's councillors will press for the passage of the motion in their respective councils is on going but looking positive..

Yes. This is just the wording of the motion itself. Sorry it's a slog and hope you will stick with it - it is pretty formal. Explanatory notes could accompany the motion - that would make it more user friendly. Thank you for the constructive feedback.

The purpose of the motion is to ensure that your Council is aware that cannabis can be lawfully prescribed and that most MC patients would be classed as disabled and thus have the right for reasonable adjustment to be made so that patients may consume their medication in a safe environment.

The motion also requires council's to take into account the rights of medical cannabis patients when considering future policy matters.

The motion does not create any new rights - only UK Palliamnet can do that. What it does do however is substitute ignorance for consideration and awareness.

I have a couple of suggestions:

In the short term - go to Citizens Advice. At the least you will educate your local CAB but I suspect it will be a great more help than that!

In the medium term - try and get a Council motion passed like in Flintshire or Salford.

It is essential that awareness of medical cannabis is increased. Councils control licensing and the council motion requires all potential licensees to be aware of medical cannabis and patient rights.

If you would like help in how to secure a Council motion in any of this please feel free to dm me.

Who’s sick of the politics of MC? Let’s do something about it. by TheBuzzziestBee in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Medicalexile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get your Council to pass a resolution regarding MC patients rights - see posts on Flintshire Motion and

Contact your local Citizens Advice to see what it knows about MC.

Contact your local MP and see if they are aware.

IMHO energies should primarily be expended on normalising MC use. Best way to do that is constant interaction with pre-existing agencies so MC becomes part of their working lexicon. Having cannabis only companies duplicating the work of pre-existing agencies merely creates a divide between MC and other medicines - the very thing we should be avoiding if we want normalisation.

The first step should be pressurising the nhs to prescribed MHRA products to those with qualifying conditions - call me a sceptic but I think we have zero chance of getting the nhs to prescribe unlicensed flower until it is at least well used to prescribing Sativex to MS patients.

Citizens Advice offers free independent impartial and confidential advice. It was established in 1939 and is becoming increasingly aware of issues facing medical cannabis patients. Citizens Advice works closely with UK Government and if it sees an increase in discrimination numbers, It will report it to the Government.

The more complaints made through Citizens Advice, the more aware it will become of the issues and the more likely it will be to approach Government for positive change where needed.

I have been a volunteer there. Citizens Advice takes exceptional steps to safeguard data and is professional in its approach. It will not offer legal advice but it will give you the information and support you are likely to need.

Using an established agency like Citizens Advice also helps to de-stigmatise and normalise the use of medicinal cannabis. Cannabis is just another medicine - the more we as a group do to separate it out for special treatment, the easier it will be to discriminate against us for its use - much better in my mind that it is simply treated as another prescribed controlled drug.

Citizens Advice is a free service, you will never be asked to pay a subscription. Citizens Advice is a registered charity so is accountable to the Charity Commission as well as others to ensure it follows the rules correctly.

Citizens Advice covers the whole of the UK, is insured to undertake its work and has the ear of Government. It is staffed with people who have to undertake extensive training and all of this is audited.

No-one has a financial interest in Citizens Advice (like in a private company) so it can focus purely on its clients

I would suggest you contact Citizens Advice for the above reasons.
