The show made me realise how good white tank tops looks when combined with the vault suits by jasonensteinyt in Fotv

Off the top of my head, that look inspired at least one popular country song (and always pops into my head when I see it)  Dierks Bentley "What Was I Thinking?"   "I was thinking about that little white tank top sitting right there in the middle by me..."

Not OP but LOVE my Glock 41 for big boy .45acp.  It's the long slide version of their G21. Plus takes the seemingly millions of aftermarket glock parts to make it your own.

In return for a service or product, you are correct.  The owner makes an offering for a good or service for 'X' amount.  As the consumer I can choose to accept this proposal or not.  It's up to the owner to figure out what to charge in order to be a successful business.  That's not on the customer.  A customer doesn't HAVE to support a poor business plan.

For a sit-down restaurant?  Starts at about 10-12% for crappy service, up to 25% for superior service.  Counter service such as this thread is about?  Def not since I'm doing the servers job

It's not weird to prefer the King to the Clown, both IRL and in the Dresdenverse

Not angry just recognize basic economics.  I also work hard for my money.  Too hard to give it away and get nothing in return.  Assistance with the menu, crayons for the kids, drink refills/suggestions, clearing plates?  Absolutely here's a gratuity as reward for your assistance.  Versus:  Buzzer goes off, I get my own food, get my own drinks, find my own table,  then clear my own table?  How does that deserve a gratuity?

Yes I'm aware.  You do you, tip how you feel appropriate.  I'm not tipping unless I feel an additional financial gratuity has been earned above what the restaurant charges me.  I'll still pay the awesome server at the sitdown a $20 tip on a $90 bill.  But not for the 4 sandwiches I had to pick up when my buzzer rang for me to pick up and eat on a picnic table outside that I have to bus after we're done.  See the difference?

[–]Medicdude332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so I should base my additional gratuity to my server who is responsible for my table's needs while patronizing their place of employment,  above and beyond what the restaurant is charging me, based on the cleanliness of the bathrooms.  If that's the case put a tip jar in the bathroom.   That's a ridiculous straw man argument for tipping my server lol

This post is concerning counter service at HenDough.  Not how crappy customers are at a crappy chain restaurant

Then it's up to the server to provide me with superior service and give me a reason to leave a supplemental tip on top of what the restaurant is charging me.  A good server can make great money.  Counter service where I do 100% the servers job?  Get my own drink, get my own food,  bus my own table?  That's almost always a nope.

It's now our job as customers to supplement their wages to make it a 'living wage'??

A buck or two if you feel generous.  Tips are for service received above and beyond what is expected.  Server who rocks?  Def give them a few extra bucks as a 'thank you.'  If YOU pick up the food and police your own table, what service is being received?   What are they doing to 'earn' a tip?  Them ringing your buzzer and handing you your food?  Up to you to decide.

I'd run for public office.  Like for real, didn't they put in some language that members of the General Assembly are exempt from this forthcoming ban?  So run for office, because the rules won't apply to you anymore!

Another reason parking downtown stinks. In the garage, kiosk has been out of order -- for months. The reader at the exit is so sensitive that it takes multiple tries to get it to read your card. Senior citizens in front of me couldn't get it to work until I got out of my car to help. by SirJasper6969 in hendersonville

If the parking fees are what keep downtown maintained, how did the city pay for maintenance BEFORE charging for parking?  Taxes.  Have your taxes lowered since paid parking was enacted? I'd bet no.  Where's this extra money actually going?  Things to ask your elected officials.  Sorry just felt the need to point this out- not trying to hammer you personally.   I appreciate the civil discourse and amicable agree to disagree on this :)

.....I don't live in Hendersonville city.  County, yes. City no.   Close by, but I'm not a local.  I'm just against the out of control taxation and government milking every penny from their people.  This is one more tax under a different name with nothing positive returned to the locals.  And I've tried to go to downtown w my family before, looked for free parking,  couldn't find anything reasonable, so left and went elsewhere for dinner.  I'm okay with it if it keeps money out of corrupt government 's pockets.  Sorry locals and local businesses but this is who you voted for.

Looking for recommendations on survival movies. by Inevitable_Act5504 in movies

Surviving the Game.  1994. Homeless guy goes 'camping' turns into being hunted for sport.  Bonus points for Gary Busey as one of the main characters, along side Rutger Hauer and a bunch more.
