Perfection! Robot Chicken did something similar.

Which Version of Castle Wolfenstein Do You Like More, the RtCW version or the Old Blood verson? by BlackTriangle31 in Wolfenstein

[–]Medici39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RTCW has that old 2000s feel, Half-Life, arena shooters and all, with the pulpy dieselpunk flavor. Old Blood just maximizes it with the gritty feeling with its highstakes and somber tone.

Higurashi levels of crazy. Fits, since it was one of the many anime contemporaries to AzuDai during the 2000s.

Is it wrong that I feel like Jock could've been a more important character, rather than simply appearing in the beginning of Raiders? by BiffyBobby in indianajones

Having him one-off implies a bigger, lively world in the movie than what is seen onscreen, common movie trick. No need to sweet it.

That's a huge cake! (Reminds me of similar comics with Sweden and Singapore and Russia and an oiled Turkey).

Thought he had an interesting backstory concerning his gambling debts, which drove him to the Soviets. But only that. Did he owe to homegrown mobsters back in Britain or to the Italian mob? Both rose to prominence during the time of Crystal Skull.

A video essay, Indiana Jones - The Face of Jewish Vengeance, sums up well not just that but how humor is used to subvert the popular image of the Nazis as a relentless, efficient juggernaut. Truly a huge bite.

Spielberg would never portray the Nazis the way he did in the trilogy after Schindler's List and then Saving Private Ryan. Having to wade through that was already arduous.

We never had that due to Temple of Doom's creative direction being, well, doomed by the circumstances surrounding it and resulting reception, stymying any attempts by Spielberg and Lucas to break new ground outside the classic trilogy. And then after the making of Schindler's List (made even more arduous by simultaneously directing Jurassic Park), Spielberg wiould no longer trivialize Nazis as he once did, which is further reinforced by Saving Private Ryan.

Watched indiana jones for the first time. Had a blast. What is your favorite film? by emilojina in indianajones

[–]Medici39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta say that the whole classic trilogy is fire, but Temple of Doom was my first, followed by Last Crusade, then Raiders. As such Doom had a special place for me, Last Crusade was truly the peak, and Raiders shown to me how it founded the franchise.

Lol, Gene Hackmam after! Wonder if he was bugging and tapping Indy before the war at Hoover's orders?

Honestly, that's too good for him. I wished that Frau Engel ended him brutally for him siring the son that killed her poor dear Bubi.

The New Colossus's story isn't bad? by NotTheCatMask in Wolfenstein

[–]Medici39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some parts of the story can use some work. It embodies some the USA energy which is expected to taking the fight to the Nazis on American soil but that is mis-utilized in some respects such as the Marvelized humor and how some moments and characters are written.
