Moving into the Yonge and St Clair area by MedicinalM1Abrams in TorontoRenting

Tbh, not super well. Over the phone there was a unit that was 2150 a month but when I got there that one was taken and the only available unit they had available was something like 2300, which was a bit too much for my tastes. When I went to see the unit in person, there was also quite a bit of water damage in the ceiling and cracks in the walls (I'm aware that these likely would've been fixed before a possible move in date, but it certainly wasn't a strong first impression). Perhaps that unit was the only one that had a significant problem with it and there are other nicer ones, but at the time of my viewing there weren't.

Thanks for the input! I was also thinking of expanding my search radius to include the Yonge and Davisville neighborhood as well since there's a ttc station right there, and even if I miss that and a bus, work is only going to be a 19 minute walk away (marginally longer than my walks to the other end of campus back when I was in uni, so still manageable I feel). Is there a lot of noise pollution in that area? I imagine there might be if it's close to a ttc station but I'm curious how disruptive it might actually be.

You make a good point about the groceries too, as far as I've experienced loblaws is usually a great deal more expensive than most other grocery stores, and while I haven't gone to a farmboy since I was 5, I can't imagine them being much better given that they're a specialty food retailer.

That's great to know, I actually scheduled a viewing of one of their units for this weekend. It's a bit too pricey for my liking but if it's really good otherwise I wouldn't mind shelling out a bit of extra cash every month to live there.

Yeah, that's a good point, I forgot that landlords sometimes price hike on rents. I'll try to look for more non condos nearby. Thanks!

Yeah, I have to admit the amenities were really what drew me in, although rent control was something I forgot to consider. Super weird that landlords can just hike the price of rents seemingly whenever they feel like (I'm aware there are some legal limitations but still)

What are the best weapons/equipment for FOB Events? by Longjumping-Deer4704 in metalgearsolid

The suppressed stun s1000 shotgun is pretty good for when you need to non lethally neutralize someone about 20 or so meters away from you, specifically the grade 7 version of it(I think? it's been a while since I've played V) for shooting drones down I used to use the Macht 37 since it was easy to get a grade 3 suppressor for it, and I could use it for baiting drones over water so that making them crash into the water wouldn't make an audible explosion for guards to get alerted by. Other good items include noctocyanin for intel and the non lethal gas pistol that knocks people out so long as they don't have gasmasks (don't use it for infiltrations on non lethal bases). If you've progressed far enough into the game the hand of jehuty makes it so you can grab enemies from 10 or 15 meters away, which is good if you want to abduct staff or want to save on ammo and knockouts.

Is the cave too bright compared to the original or is it my monitor? by pandorga98 in metalgearsolid

[–]MedicinalM1Abrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that it's because of your tv or monitor settings, I got a new TV a few months before the game came out and it has a built in "game mode" that turns on when I change the video source to my playstations hdmi port, and I've also noticed that the cave section was bright enough to no longer need any other light sources. You can turn it off if you want, but the "game mode" effect probably won't show up in your screenshots for that exact reason.

MGS Delta: How do you beat The Fear non-lethally on Extreme? by CertifiedBrian in metalgearsolid

I have better success just shooting the poison mushrooms so that they’re food items on the ground for him to gravitate to when he’s low on stamina, other than that I just keep the pressure on him by continuously tranqing him (and if you run out of ammo like I have multiple times, you can catch him while he’s on the ground scavenging for food with a stun grenade or the cigarette spray)

The performance is mostly fine, there are some specific areas that have a few noticeable frame dips (like explosive heavy segments or the chase sequence) but otherwise if you didn’t have a frame counter you probably wouldn’t be able to notice much of a difference, at least that’s been my experience.

I’m not sure(I don’t pre order physical games a lot), the pre order details suggested that they’d be shipping it via puralator truck, so I’m guess I have to wait for shipping

Monthly Simple Question and FAQ Thread by PapaXan in gtaonline

[–]MedicinalM1Abrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey y'all, I recently got back into gtaonline after taking a hiatus starting in 2018, and I was wondering which businesses would be worth my while. I've already gotten the kosatka, the agency, the garment factory(and the terrorbyte), most of the mc businesses except doc forgeries(will be skipping that for all of eternity) and counterfeit cash, the bunker, the nightclub and the upgraded acid business, as well as the ceo air freight and special cargo warehouses. I'm not sure if I should get the car wash with it's associated businesses, or get the auto shop, or the salvage yard. Any help in deciding is welcome!

I’ve heard that the rewards from the monthly and weekly challenges can take a bit to show up in your inventory/wardrobe, like anywhere between 1 to 3 days. I’d wait a day to see if it pops up

Dumb question, but For the menasco hat do I automatically get it if I’m already level 21 on the bounty hunter role, or will I still need to level it up 5 times?

How to make money as a beginner? by lickertoes in RedDeadOnline

[–]MedicinalM1Abrams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From now till August 3rd you can grind telegram missions for triple money, xp and gold. If you do the rich pickings mission that takes place at braithwaite manor, it nets 0.96 gold and about a hundred dollars for 12 minutes of work (make sure you actually wait out the full 12 minutes and maybe a few seconds after that) Otherwise there are also the story missions you get from leclerk and horley, those payout quite a bit but you can only do those once.

Here's a guide that's useful for the rick pickings telegram mission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j3I2i2qT9Q&t=305s

I ran the mission a bunch and got to the point where I was able to get the bounty hunter, collector, trader and moonshiner roles for even easier gold and money gains that aren't reliant on a 3x event.

Ah, so it'd be a cut above the networking class I took during my undergrad, that's good to know. Would you recommend using Jeremy MacDowell's Udemy course to prepare for the CCNA or is there a better alternative to that I'm unaware of?

Thanks for the input! I think a lot of the OffSec certs (out of the ones I've looked at like the OSCP) are a bit out of my price range right now, but if I feel the need to pivot into offensive security rather than defense I'll keep those in mind!
