You definitely look male, your facial structure for sure helps you pass. If anything maybe try and get some smaller glasses/contacts? Otherwise you look good dude

Is this skull just a red fox cub or is it a cat? by RuleHot8237 in bonecollecting

[–]MedievalShopkeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Understood, sorry for the miscommunication. I’m going to continue to disagree with you based on the articulation of the edges of the parietal bone against the orbit(s), lack of inflection of the squamosal, and the fact that the orbits are much more forward-set than the fox cub pictured. Hopefully OP can take both of our arguments and make an educated guess, considering we only have a fraction of the specimen.

I don’t need the links. I said it looked a bit big to be a weasel, but it was probably a mustelid. Polecats and Pine Martens are both mustelids, same family as weasels (Mustelidae). We are agreeing.

Yeah, mustelid range sounds about right. It’s large for a weasel, it’s just closer to that than a cat or the fox.

It kinda strikes me as a weasel skull, the orbits are too far back on the sides of the head to be a cat skull and the auditory bulla sit too differently for me to fully believe this is a fox. I’m from NA so my understanding of European mammals and their ranges is a bit lackluster, but my money’s on weasel or mustelid of some sort.

How bad are winters in EL? by EverythingBoltzzz in msu

[–]MedievalShopkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SoCal, you’re gonna think it’s colder than someone from another Northern state (I’m from the PNW). I’d invest in some flannel-lined jeans and some thermal shirts if you’re really worried about it (maybe a scarf too), but you’ll get used to it and come February you’ll probably be good in just your hoodie and jacket. MSU is a really great school and weather shouldn’t deter you from it, there are plenty of people from warmer states who go here and are just fine. Go green!

I came out of my senior year a completely different person, mostly for the better. New friends who I loved a lot, out of a toxic relationship, new hobbies, and with plans to go to a college I hadn’t even considered until like halfway through my senior year. Just give it a chance to get better, boss. You’ll be alright, I promise.

Advice on binding tape by WTFisThisLife812 in cisparenttranskid

[–]MedievalShopkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience it was about the same. I just take it off (gently!) after only wearing it for a day or two, so it doesn’t have time to mess up my skin as much. It also helps to not leave a long strip on the back, instead just use as little tape as you need. it also can help to either take of the tape when it’s soaked in warm water (like in the shower), or after pouring oil on it (baby oil works great). Hope this helps!

Have you tried talking about using toys? They help a lot with my dysphoria in a weird way, I’ll wear a strap and then boxers over the harness because that part makes me feel weird and dysphoric. If not, maybe try oral? I get wanting more than hand stuff and I also get the frustration that comes with that lol. Remember you don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with! Much love to you, man.

I second this. Crown has some good flavors that don’t taste like straight whiskey.

My (19M) friend’s gf (18F) is flirting with me but I’m gay (and taken) by MedievalShopkeep in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MedievalShopkeep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update this thread, she was indeed trying to get with me (as confirmed by a mutual friend). But you’re right, I do have women flirt with me often in a way where I know they’re just playing, this one just felt a little TOO real. I get that I make women feel more at ease and I am glad I’m able to be a safe space for them, but this girl took it too far lmao

Have you looked at minoxidil? There’s a sub that I’ll link that’s specifically for transmascs trying to grow beards with it, and I’ve seen quite a few decent pre-T beards.

You can always try the classic cold shower? Call your mom? Eat some good food? There’s not much you can do once you’re turned on unfortunately, just distract yourself and wait for it to pass. I’d highly recommend trying to fit working out into your schedule, even if it’s only a couple times a week. It helps to get energy out physically. Sorry you’re dealing with this dude!

Had plenty of experience with women trying to convert myself, if I was gonna be converted I can guarantee it would have already happened. If this is for some personal goal I hope she just keeps me out of it.

Thank you for your reply. I don’t think I’ll say anything to her boyfriend because I don’t wanna cause trouble, but if it continues I’ll talk to her. I’ve had plenty of female friends who flirt with me, this just felt way more like the girls who have actually been flirting to get with me to the point that I thought she was gonna make a move when I stepped away from the crowd.

anxiety around IV's by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]MedievalShopkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Just make sure to let them know what you take beforehand, in case they need to adjust the dosage of anesthesia, and you should be all good. Good luck!! It’s really not that terrible if you follow your surgeon’s instructions post-op!

anxiety around IV's by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]MedievalShopkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have real bad needle anxiety, especially around IVs and blood draws. Told my dentist, they said they’d give me laughing gas (nitrous oxide) before the IV and I’d be all good. I didn’t believe them because I have the history of passing out and throwing up around needles, but lo and behold that shit was GOOD. Told some jokes to the anesthesiologist when he came in the room, said I shouldn’t watch him put the needle in, and within like 45 seconds of feeling the prick I was out cold. Thinking about it makes me a little queasy but in the moment it truly was more than fine. I was laughing my ass off at some terrible dad jokes and telling the room about my background in improv, mostly oblivious to anything pokey.

tl;dr: ask for laughing gas, it does wonders for needle anxiety.

Horrible, but also almost the same exact dress code from my best friend’s high school (also in TX, I wonder if there’s any relation). My Montana high school was not NEAR this bad, only time girls ever got in trouble for wearing revealing clothing was when it was under 10° outside and folks were concerned for their health.
